In the midst of intense battle it’s easy enough for Tony to write off the appearance of an honest to god GHOST as his mind fucking with him but when things have settled down and he sees him again, well it’s harder to justify ignoring. Because that’s what he wants to do. He wants to turn the other way and leave because just seeing the man there, ALIVE, bring him back to that goddamn day. Suddenly he’s angry, a different anger to what he’d felt when he’d thought the man had died. He wants to yell now but what will that achieve? Maybe it’ll make him feel better for a half a second. Well, maybe that’s enough for him, actually.
Tony marches up to him, giving him a once over just to make absolutely sure he’s not just having some weird kind of hallucination. ❝ What the HELL, Phil? ❞ The fact that he’s used the agent’s real name instead of any of a million teasing nicknames he’d already come up for him should betray some of his shock at the situation. ❝ Nice of you to drop in. Must’ve missed the memo about your RESURRECTION. ❞ His voice is somewhat stilted. While he’s glad to see the man actually living, he’s very much miffed that he hadn’t been made aware of that fact until just now.
