I’m feeling lazy as all hell today, and so I’ve decided to post some videogame music and just nerd out for a moment. I know videogames don't appeal to everyone but it’s my page, and this is what I do when I get lethargic lately. The Elder Scrolls has been one of my favorite game franchises out there for something like two decades. Although I feel each release of the series gets more and more streamlined, or colloquially dumbed down to appeal to a wider, dumber audience I have to admit I did enjoy Skyrim which I just beat about a month ago. One of my favorite narrative choices as the plot unfolds is that you can select to side with the Empire or the Stormcloaks, a rebel faction, and win a big civil war in the frozen north of Tamriel. It was my distinct pleasure to join the rebels and beat the ever-loving piss out of the fractured, weak and haughty Empire who were licking the boot of the Aldmeri Dominion (a very Nazi-like faction of high elves). If you smash play you’ll hear an exceptionally angelic voice covering a song from that game called Age of Oppression, a pro-Stormcloak version of its counterpart, the pro-Empire Age of Aggression. The YouTube version of this cover has managed to gain a whopping 7 MILLION + hits since being released back in 2012. It’s performed by Malukah, a singer/songwriter from Monterrey, Mexico and it is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Even if you don’t know anything about the lore of the Elder Scrolls, I can pretty much guarantee you will be blown away if you smash play! Oh and by the way, don’t you fuckin’ dare come into my country, tax the living shit out of the people, inform the residents they can't worship Talos anymore and waste our precious resources on your crumbling and corrupt Empire! All hail Ulfric Stormcloak, the true high King! Just to bring the nerd-train home, below are a few shots I took in-game of my journey with my custom Nord character, Adorna Screamheart. Enjoy a good game today, and relax!
