Ageism

The article “Global reach of ageism on older persons’ health: A systematic review” studies how much ageism affects the health of older people. This study found that 95.5% of people who identified as experiencing ageism had significant health effects. A majority of this impact comes from being denied proper medical coverage and treatment. This results in shorter lives for those affected by ageism. This meme is important because it displays one of the many negative ways ageism affects older adults. Ageism may not be on very many people’s radars in the first place, never mind the effect it has on the health of older adults.

Something a little different. Manuel Gomez circa 1940. These are cigars are from 1940’s and were made in Jamaica. Outside of Cuba a large amount of cigar tobacco was sourced out of Jamaica between 1870’s-1950’s.
