@agenderyu tagged me in this writers meme thing!! So thanks!
where do you publish your work?
I have an AO3 account but I haven’t posted anything in about a year now :’). I’d like to get a new account (or a side pseud?) and post stuff again!
what medium/application/etc. do you write in or with? I use google docs (*scoffs* google “drive”) It’s super hard for me to actually write it down (bc my handwriting is to be desired) so I usually just type everything.
do you collaborate with others? I’ve done some stuff with my cousin before, and that was a lot of fun! I’d like to do it again but we’re both super bad about writing consistently.
how much editing do you do before you publish? Not a lot? I read through it and fix mistakes/change things and I’ll have a friend read through them sometimes. But I usually don’t change a lot in the ways of editing.
do you listen to music when you write? Sometimes, it depends on when I’m writing and what kind of mood I’m in.
how do you decide what to write about? Whatever strikes my fancy at the time. I’ll get ideas and I’ll talk them to death and ill write ideas down but actually writing the story doesn’t happen alot of the time. Back when I read more books I used to get more ideas. The things I actually write about are things that strike me in the moment more often than the ones I spend lots of time thinking about.
when do you write? The best time for me to write is actually after 10pm. It’s too late to start anything productive and I shouldn’t make noise but I don’t actually want to sleep and I need a reason not to sleep so I’ll write sometimes.
how often do you write? I haven’t written in months tbh and even then my writing scheduled was sporadic at best.
do you take requests? why/why not? I never have but I suppose I could? I’ve never been in the place where I thought I was good enough or had enough people that liked my work to actually offer to do so, but perhaps if I did I’d actually write pff.
is there any genre or type of story you want to write but are hesitant to? I’d like to do future-y stories, and stories with intricate worlds, but recently I’ve been super into webcomics and can visualize the world and the characters and how things happen and how i’d do it as a comic (if I could draw well enough) but can’t think of how I’d translate it into words? I’d like to get better at descriptions and explaining things in my works.
any inspirational quotes, videos, tricks, articles, etc. that help you stay motivated? Mostly I’ll just bump ideas off of my friends and get excited enough about things that I’ll actually write.
go to page 7 of your wip, skip to the 7th line, and share 7 sentences. hA seven pages but have a section of this thing I’d like to pick back up
Her breath catches in her throat and she stares, wide eyed and opened mouthed, up at him.
Nick licks his lips. “Hey.” He says, and she shrinks away, eyes dilating and scrunching up, lips pursed.
He thinks about saying something more, about how he’s not angry or anything and it was just an accident and not to worry, when there’s a chorus of angry voices.
“Thief!” They yell, “Get back here!”
And then she’s shaking and closing her eyes and- (/don’t get involved don’t get involved/) He grabs her wrist and she starts, blinking up at him with large eyes.
“Run,” he says, and she only has time to furrow her eyebrows before they’re off, weaving through the thick throng of people and vendors alike. Nick knows this place, he’s run from his own fair share of angry shop owners and
