Summary: Something is missing. Four is sure of it.

Note: Happy Agent 4 day! :D I actually wrote this a little after Side Order came out.

Four had forgotten something, they were sure of it. It nagged at them every waking moment, and sometimes it haunted their sleep.

Something was missing, but they didn't know what.

They'd checked over their weapons. The New Squidbeak Splatoon headquarters. Their flat that they barely spent any time at. Their locker at GrizzCo. The little nook they'd claimed for themselves in the lobby to store their water bottle and a snack.

There was nothing amiss.

They'd checked in with the other members of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, sending them texts that were largely answered with emojis or one word answers. They weren't asked whether they were alright. They weren't asked whether they might need help.

But it was fine. The others were busy and they trusted Four to hold the fort down. To watch over Octo Canyon.

Their self-imposed mission to venture into the depths of octarian territory and blast the Calamari Inkantation for any remaining octolings was coming along splendidly as well. They hadn't gotten to pitch the idea during the last phone call conference meeting. But they hadn't been told that they couldn't go out and help.

Four scoffed. Who were they kidding. They ran a rag over their hero shot and checked the ink tank. All good.

So what the hell was bothering them so much?
