A: “My awesome editor at StoryLoom (shoutout to Isa!) has given me some great feedback that helped me shape Ella's story along the way, and particularly helped me make the most of the platform since writing for StoryLoom is a bit different than writing novels. For writing Agent Ella, the most helpful advice they've given me has been to give the reader choices that matter, and make sure the outcomes are different based on the reader's choice.”

The Duponts have a dinner party where Madame Dupont is heard scheming. You are Agent Ella, undercover as a housekeeper named Carla. That night, you save Delila, the children's nanny, from a drunk Monsieur Dupont, but the similarities between the man and your abusive ex-husband are too much. You take a drink after years in recovery and wake up feeling disoriented (and awful!). Andrea, the cook, offers to fix you up some breakfast. You're still disturbed about the Duponts' dinner party last night.

Q. Any pre-writing practices?

A. You mean besides get the kids to school, eat breakfast, exercise, make a cup of tea, and head upstairs to my home office? 

I do like to make an outline of each chapter before I create it in StoryLoom. I have a huge document where I keep track of all the past choices readers have made and what happens in each chapter so I can keep all the threads going. And I also work with an editor on the main story arcs in advance to get some helpful feedback!
