Alex: Do you take constructive criticism?
Lucy: I only take cash or credit.
As we go into season 6 of "Supergirl," I would like to make it known that Lucy Lane is the only love interest I will accept for Kara. No, I will not be taking questions or criticism. Yes, your praise and agreement is encouraged.
Second part to the Lucy and Baby Danvers fic ?
By the time Alex finally cleared you to go home, you had been lying helplessly in the DEO med bay for over a month. During that time, you’d had more than a few psych evaluations, several excruciating physical therapy appoints, and enough stitches that if you ever saw another sewing needle again in your life, it would be too soon.
Kara carried you to the car, simply ignoring your protests. You had tried to walk, you wanted nothing more in that moment than to be able to do something for yourself, but with your overprotective sister around, that wasn’t going to happen. Lucy didn’t exactly argue your case, either. In fact, you were pretty sure she was the one who asked Kara to carry you.
You sat silently the entire way home. Lucy tried to make conversation, and you felt bad for ignoring her, but leaving the safety of the DEO put you on edge. You were afraid that at any moment, you would be ambushed and thrown back into that awful, awful place.
Your sister wasn’t around to carry you into the apartment, so Lucy helped you walk. You weren’t going to lie, it was the hardest thing you’d ever done and it was horribly painful. All your old wounds seemed fresh the moment you put your weight on your legs. You were glad Lucy was there, because you fell almost immediately. She wrapped an arm around you, avoiding the healing gashes that rested there. It seemed she didn’t even have to think about where to place her arm - she’d grown so familiar with them in the past month that it was second nature.
The walk was slow and seemed to last forever, even though you only had to make it to the elevator and then halfway down the hall to reach your apartment. By the time you got inside, you were drenched in sweat. You felt like you couldn’t go another step. You wanted to just sink down on the floor, but there was no way your wife would allow that, so you pushed yourself forward until you were finally able to collapse on the couch.
Lucy disappeared into the kitchen for a moment, returning with a glass of water and a wet washcloth to wipe the sweat from your face. “Are you okay, sweetheart?”
You nodded, taking the cloth from Lucy’s hand as she reached to wipe it across your skin. Your hand shook as it clutched the rag. You still didn’t have full range of motion, making it hard to keep your grip.
“I can help -” Lucy moved to take the washcloth back, but she moved too quickly.
You flinched away, trying to hide the fearful gasp that escaped your lips.
“I’m sorry,” Lucy said. “I didn’t warn you. I’m so sorry.”
“No,” You sighed. You knew how desperately Lucy wanted things to go back to the way they were - she wanted it even more than you did. You felt bad that she had to ask before grabbing your hand or hugging you, but you couldn’t help it. When you didn’t expect it, when she moved too quickly, you were thrown back into Cadmus. “I’m sorry. You’re my wife. I shouldn’t be … scared.”
“You went through a major trauma, Y/N. You don’t have to be okay.” After a moment of silence, Lucy glanced toward the kitchen. “I’m going to make dinner. Why don’t you just try to relax and settle in. Okay?”
You slept on the couch that night. You told Lucy it was because it was too hard to move, but truthfully, it was because you weren’t comfortable sleeping next to someone, not even your wife. You needed space.
You didn’t know it, but after you finally dozed off, Lucy moved to an armchair to watch over you. She didn’t sleep at all that night. When you awoke from a nightmare, she was right there within seconds to calm you and soothe you back to sleep.
The next morning, you awoke to the sound of sizzling bacon as it cooked. You pushed yourself up as you stretched, making the small squeaking noise Lucy adored as you did so.
“Good morning, sweetie,” Lucy said. “How are you?”
“I’m fine.”
Lucy pursed her lips, but didn’t question you. “I’m making pancakes and bacon, you’re favorite. And today we have your physical therapy appointment at two and then Alex will be coming over to check how you’re healing.”
“What? No actual therapy today?” You hated going to therapy. You didn’t want to talk about what happened to you and the doctor had never actually gotten you to speak, so it was pointless anyway.
“That’s tomorrow. But I did invite Alex and Kara over for dinner. Is that okay?”
As much as you loved your sisters, you knew it would just be hours of the three of them coddling you. You’d had enough of that. “Yeah, whatever.”
“I can always cancel,” Lucy said as she set a full plate down on the coffee table. “We don’t have to have your sisters over.”
“I said it’s fine. I don’t want to ruin your plans.” Lucy had spent the last month cooped up in the DEO with her when she should have been out with friends, or doing literally anything else. “I’m already a burden enough.”
“Whoa, hey.” Lucy moved to grab your hand, but stopped yourself. “Is it okay if I hold your hand?”
You answered with a simple nod.
Lucy took your hand in hers before speaking again. “Listen to me, you are not, never have been, and never will be a burden. I love you more than anything in the world and I want nothing more than to see you recover. I will be here the entire time.”
“You shouldn’t have to take care of me, Lucy. I’m not a kid, I’m your wife.”
“That’s exactly why I should be taking care of you. Because I love you. Because I chose you. Do you not think I knew what I was getting myself into when I married a high ranking agent? Because I did. And choosing you means that I chose every part of you, good and bad. So no, you aren’t a burden. You’re the love of my life.”
You waited a beat before slowly moving to put your head on Lucy’s shoulder. Tears stung at your eyes. You felt so guilty for trapping Lucy here with you. You couldn’t believe what you’d just heard. You couldn’t believe anybody would actually love you enough to want to take care of you in this state. “I love you.”
On a whim, Alex decided to try the salmon ladder. She beat Oliver, which made him very grumpy. Maggie, Lucy, and Sara really enjoyed watching Alex on the ladder for, um, totally chaste reasons, of course.
Could I please have an imagine where the reader is the youngest Danvers sister who is dating Lucy Lane. And her sisters catch them together or something. Fluffy please?
“Lucy, what are you doing?” You asked as she pulled you through the hallways of the DEO. “We’re going to get you in trouble.”
“My dad is a high ranking military officer. We couldn’t get in trouble if we tried,” Lucy giggled.
“It really seems like you’re trying.”
“Just trust me.”
You were led down hallways until making it to a section of the DEO you had never seen before. And still, Lucy took you deeper. You had no idea where you were, and a part of you wondered if Lucy even knew where you were.
Eventually, you stopped in a large room full of alien looking objects.
“Um, okay,” You said. “Now I”m positive you’re trying to get us in trouble.”
“Hey,” Lucy said, turning you to face her as she grabbed both your hands. “You’re fine. Nobody will find us down here. Very few people know it exists.”
“I’m not supposed to be one of those people,” You reminded. “Alex is still on the edge about whether or not I should be involved in the DEO. This could get me kicked out.”
“I’ll say you were brainwashed.” Lucy brushed her lips against yours.
“By what? Your charm and good looks?”
“Precisely. Now can I show you what’s down here?”
“In a minute.”
You pressed your lips against Lucy’s once again and you pulled her into your arms. Her hands found their way to your cheeks as she deepened the kiss. It was bliss. Just the two of you, alone for the first time in ages. You could have stayed there forever, survived on this moment alone.
You heard someone clear their throat and you and Lucy pulled away quickly, turning toward the voice. Alex and Supergirl were standing feet from you, both of them had their arms folded across their chest.
“What are you doing?” Alex asked.
“Hey,” You stuttered. “Um, we were just - um.”
“Making out around a bunch of highly unpredictable alien tech,” Alex finished.
“Yeah … that.”
“It was my idea.” Lucy took a step forward. “I wanted to bring her down here to show her -”
“You?” Kara asked.
“Whoa, hey,” You said.
“No, of course not,” Lucy said.
“Look, I promise it was innocent. She really was going to show me the alien tech. We just got distracted. And anyway, I’m an adult. I don’t need my sisters telling me what I can and can’t do.”
“You do when it involves breaking strict orders to never go below floor three,” Alex said. “Come on, Y/N. You have more sense than this.”
You face was bright red. You were so embarrassed and ashamed. It was like you’d been caught stealing diamonds or cheating on your SAT. “It won’t happen again. We should get back upstairs.”
You grabbed Lucy’s hand and pulled her after you before your sisters could say anything else. They still treated you like a kid half the time, which was very frustrating. And nothing was worse than them catching you making out with your girlfriend. It was like high school all over again - except you were all highly trained government agents now and you had an extra close eye kept on you during your probationary period. For all you knew, you had just ruined your chances of ever going out in the field.
After months, I finally commissioned sweet @konako for another piece. And this is the precious thing I got back. Even if this is not my primary ship of the show, a dear friend made me fall in love with this couple and she and another one keep this love alive writing and roleplaying about them with me. I so wish Lucy got back in the show. But since that isn’t happening, let’s enjoy some Agentlane love. Big thank you as always to Konako for keeping up with my crazy requests. And of course to all my friends that enjoy writing about them with me.
