For the OTP Quotes could you do Booster Gold/Blue Beetle with “did that person just take a picture of us?”
Ted Kord was fond of many things. Flight wasn’t one of them. It had its purpose and its place, but there was a reason that he didn’t have any form of personal aerial propulsion as the Blue Beetle outside of his plane. He wasn’t scared of heights - he just didn’t care for flying particularly outside a cockpit. He was happy with his feet on the ground, thank you very much.
Booster didn’t seem to understand this very well. He seemed to be under the impression desensitization therapy was the solution to this problem since he could fly and flight was awesome and Ted was awesome and, therefore, combining Ted with flight ought to be awesome as well.
Ted stepped back. It was the middle of the afternoon on a Tuesday. The late spring air still carried the faint, lingering sweetness of fresh blossoms despite the fuss the bank robbers had caused. There had been six of them, but between Ted and Booster they hadn’t taken long to corral and handover to the police. Now all that was left was to go ho-
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!” Ted screeched and flailed as he was snatched up from behind into the air by a very familiar pair of gloved hands. “BOOSTER, YOU JERK, PUT ME DOWN!”
He really should have been expecting this - it wasn’t the first time that it had had happened.
“Come on - we got the bad guys, and it’s a gorgeous day,” Ted could hear the grin in Booster’s voice, “a perfect time to go flying with my favorite nerd.” Booster’s arms wrapped more snugly around Ted’s chest. Normally Ted would have approved of this (Booster’s arms were definitely on the list of things that he was fond of) but not in this particular case.
“Ted is going to fly today!”
“Ted is not going to fly today.”
“…Please?” Booster pressed a light kiss to the side of Ted’s neck. “I really like flying with you like this.” Ted felt his resolve begin to waver.
“You are doing all the dishes when we get home. By hand. Without any help from Skeets.”
“Yes!” With a few deft movements, Booster shifted Ted so that he was carrying him bridal style instead of from behind. Ted mock-scowled at him.
“This wasn’t part of the deal,” he informed him.
“Yeah, but from behind I can’t do this.” Booster tilted his head and gave Ted a proper kiss on the lips. Ted had to concede that Booster did have a valid point. He leaned back and was about to comment on this when a small white flash from ground level caught his eye. He twisted to get a better look.
“Did that person just take a picture of us?”
“Uh….” Booster peered down as well. “Yeah… I think they just did. And that person. And that person. And- oh, man, that is a lot of people with cameras.” Booster’s mouth twisted to one side thoughtfully. “So how many tabloid covers do you think we’re going to end up on?”
