Today's LGBT+ Character is;
RJ McCabe from The Strange Case of Starship Iris-Nonbinary
Species: Human
Art by @munchiezxx

Because I'm relistening to Starship Iris, I want to say that this is the best show. It's insane to see a future full of queer people that isn't perfect in it's acceptance. Brian casually talking about his experience coming out as trans in college. Violet's experiences with racism and biphobia. Agent McCabe's frustration with nonbinary people being seen as alien (in a universe with actual aliens!).
The discrimination isn't the main plotline, and it doesn't choke out acceptance or representation. It's realistic. This universe feels real in a way a lot of scifi future podcasts don't. My experiences feel seen by this show.
Also, the way the creators respond to feedback blows me away. (Take a lesson from them, Penumbra). Apologizing and donating money to trans causes after they realized the harm they caused by sorting their characters into HP houses on their blog. Apologizing and introducing McCabe's story after they realized the harm they caused by having an alien race be their main representation of nonbinary identities. They correct their mistakes so openly, and they listen to the people they're trying to represent. It's just so good.
Someone: Hey, what's your gender?
McCabe: Sniper.
Someone: No, I mean what do they call you?
McCabe: Sharpshooter McCabe.
Someone: Ugh, just, what's in your pants?
McCabe: My gun. *Cocks gun*
I really appreciate how McCabe shows up and Park goes "huh I guess I'm a father now."
Idk if anyone else sees RJ McCabe as black but I do and I love them
They've been TELLING me to put my TSCOSI headcannons on tumblr but I haven't yet and I'm starting now. It's very evident that these won't be posted in order. TWs in tags.
TSCOSI headcannon dump No.1 — no theme this time.
