i kind of ship McCabe with Brian and Krejjh, in the sense that i think McCabe would live in their basement and refer to them as their roommates but would also tag along for all of their date nights

thinking about something me & @marshmallow-fluffy have called the emreh: in other words, krejjh and brian scooping up rj to be like,,,, their queerplatonic third? they're just There. the spouses and their rj mccabe. yknow??

this dynamic includes highlights of:

- rj being around people who have killed other people before, who see the worst parts of them and don't shy away. who love them anyway, in the earnest and open way those two love

- brian in 3.02 asking them if the rat poison soup is something they can use, and then clarifying, asking them if it's something they can use without thinking less of themself

- them being unable to sleep. going up to the cockpit and hanging out with krejjh at 2 in the morning, and krejjh doesn't know how to be gentle with them really but they try

- we all agree rj is touch-starved, right? i think brian and krejjh are both fairly casually touchy, and i like the idea of brian holding their hand and forgetting he even took it, of krejjh draping themself over rj like a cat, of them being included in the casual displays of touch krejjh and brian do without thinking

- the way dwarnian names work, and their culture around that—there's no way "krejjh" is their actual given name, right? and brian probably knows it, but quite possibly not anyone else in the crew. rj getting to know it, and being blindsided by the trust placed in them

- and finally, in the future i've made up for them, where they all go back to mirzakhani, we can get brian teaching his intro to dwarnian culture classes, and someone (let's be real it's probably oakley. ey is a MENACE) asking, in a way that says ey already knows the answer, "oh, is an emreh like you and krejjh and mccabe?"

- and then him going to those two after class like "hey so something funny happened" and telling them what happened. and krejjh being like "i meannnnnn"

- basically, "hey bestie wanna share your life with us"

- rj FULLY bluescreens. no thoughts only aa?? aaaa????? ME????????

- (they think brian and krejjh are making a bad decision but also they can't stop themself from taking it anyway)

in conclusion this has been emreh propaganda

my work friend who i tell the plot of all my podcasts to has decided martin needed better than jon (i’m a jon sims apologist but she’s not… despite having never listened to the show, nothing i say can change her mind). and so she says he needs better and wrecks her mind for “what’s his name.. jeeter?” (from tscosi) and i agreed that they had similar energy but “you can’t separate jeeter from krejjh tho” to which she simply looked at the bottom of my eyes, the windows to my soul and said “throuple” and i think she could be onto something

McCabe stands there for another minute, heart rabbiting in their chest, mind racing with possibilities. It could still be a trap—their whole crew could be held at gunpoint right now, forced to say whatever they need to say to get McCabe in there with the rest of them, so some enemy officer can drive their ship into the nearest asteroid and ensure the most possible casualties. They could be ruining everything by following orders, could be putting their friends in even more danger if they even think about going in there.

Or. Park could’ve told everyone it’s RJ’s birthday today. And everyone could be trying to throw them some bass-ackwards melted-glass Rumor Crew Special facsimile of a surprise party.
