Anyil shuddered as the pain tore through her. They'd gotten close to the chamber where that goddamn blue gas was being stored, close enough that they could almost taste it - and then, of course, the traps went off. Alastor had managed to dodge most of the force - of course, that was also because Anyil had thrown herself in front of him, taking the brunt of the attack, trusting to her healing to save her. I shoulda learned by now, trust nothin', she thought, and chuckled, which turned swiftly into a very bloody cough. "Zing'ri," she managed to gasp. He was kneeling beside her, trying to patch her up, salvage something, give her enough time to heal. She knew if he did, they would both die here - in the best case. She had no desire to meet the leader of the Ten Rings in person. "It saved me 'fore, now it'll kill me," she gasped out. "They fin' me, they'll turn me. Please, Zing - ah!" she cried out, as something inside her tore, and a new rush of blood poured out. She looked up into his eyes, willing her mangled lips to move right this time, letting the chill take every inch of her as her healing futilely tried to fix all the damage. "Mercy, Zingari," she managed to get out. "B'headin'. Make it quick." She looked at him with trusting eyes, vision blurring. There was the shick of a knife unsheathed, and she gasped at the sudden incredible pain, fading quickly to blessed blackness.
