like im sorry I'm playing up my anger for comedy but seriously please just read a guide to the dragon world there's a lot of stuff that informs the canon of the series.

"the wof guidebook had no substance / no lore wft" literally who cares. you are free to make your own headcanons?? why do you crave validation from canon so much.

i liked the guidebook!! i wasn't expecting a deep dive into the socioeconomic state of the skywings... i expected cute art and cute writing snippets and got that. admittedly, i thought the section about seawings was a bit lacking (it mostly focused on coral) (which is very fitting considering her character but still), but that's whatever. it's still cute and fun and whimsical.

feeling disappointed is fine, but i think some people were expecting way too much of the guidebook. i'm willing to blame the marketing for some of the hype, but i don't know why some people thought tui would write a biology report on the tribes or smth 💀 she's always been more interested in character exploration and the book reflects that.

Tsunami the Seawing (Revisited)

Been over a year since I started this blog and there are some designs I want to freshen up a little bit so here's a bit of a new design for Tsunami!

She also have shark like fins on her elbows and on the bottom part of her tail. She has a little bit of yellow on the side of her belly, on her upper eyelids and on her esca. Her horns are a deep dark blue that resemble the tip of a conch shell. Her left eyebrow has a scar that runs vertically through it and her eyes are green. She is standing giving a toothy smile. In the second image she's shown to be wearing a purple pearl necklace, and two fin rings on her tail fin. /.End ID]

Fixed AGTTDW Maps

Since in “A Guide To The Dragon World”, the maps of each continent are significantly widened to account for the 2 page spread, I used the original maps to edit the digitized versions of the map back into the (mostly) correct widths. Pyrrhia here is pretty much perfect, and Pantala is as close as I could’ve gotten.

No need to credit me; this was a pretty easy edit.

refs based on agttdw portaits, some two have all accessories rest don't. made across like 3 years. thorn i think is my best ref fill because i specifically took time to patch every hole i could find so i probably will use it as my example

WoF fans when the book for third graders that was said several times to be a fun little sidebook with a heavier emphasis on humour turns out to be a fun little sidebook with a heavier emphasis on humour (they are angry that it wasn't a 500 page encyclopedia with such dense worldbuilding that would make Tolkien cry)

One of the greatest things about A Guide to the Dragon World imo is the fact that all the dragons have different little phrases to sign off letters depending on what tribe they’re from. It’s such a cute detail and I love it.
