☽ - Nathaniel!
☽ = wandering alone at night .
He shouldn’t be here, of course. The park was closed for the night. The lights were off and the gates had been locked--but it wasn’t as though it was difficult to slip in. And the moon was more than bright enough to see by.
It was a shame the rides were shut off, too, but at least he could examine their mechanics without anyone shooing him away. It was just that fairs and carnivals and parks were so much less stressful without all of the humans packing the walkways. That was the trouble with places that humans enjoyed, he supposed; they were often there when they could be.
He was tightening a loose bolt on the tippy-cup ride--such an interesting application of inertial force!--when he saw someone else wandering through the park. Startled, he straightened automatically and banged his head into the lid of the engine compartment. The resulting clang--and the one that followed as N dropped his wrench--was impossible to ignore.
N stared at the other man blankly, rubbing his head. “ ... I believe everyone is meant to have left by now,” is all he could think to say.
