So here’s a rant (kind of):
Honestly, I feel what Mark said so so deeply. At the beginning, I really couldn't care less about charts because, you know, they were just rookies. But as the the time passed, I realized how important this was to them and it became really important to me too. When IYF came out, I could’ve sworn that was their moment. The music was amazing, the choreo was eye-catching, their visuals were incredible. And then we got our first win. We were pretty happy but we wanted more. Then “Departure” was released and I told myself again: “this is it”. But it quite wasn’t. Now, don’t get me wrong. I know how the boys gain more popularity with each comeback, gaining different types of recognition and such. But you guys know how charts are important nowadays. Who doesn’t want great chart numbers? And knowing just how much the boys wanted this, it hurt to know that we weren’t reaching one of our most important goals. When “Hard Carry” came out, we were a little disappointed, because the song didn’t appeal to the majority of us. But we were hoping that it somehow fitted the Korean public’s taste and our boys could finally hit it big. We achieved great things with HC, though. Multiple music show wins, important end of the year awards etc. But we also could see how underrated the boys were withing the industry. From having to perform half of their latest comeback song to sharing stages with rookies (I’m in no way looking down on rookies here). Now, for the final phase of the “Flight Log” trilogy, I finally decided to let go of these expectations, just like them. My goal for this comeback is to support the boys as much as I can and just enjoy it. I decided not to keep looking at the MelOn chart every our because it only made me frustrated and didn’t let me enjoy the boys hard work properly. Got7 made an amazing album, their title song is great, the outfits are great, the boys look proud and happy with what they did. Got7 knows they aren’t big with South Korea, and that’s okay. They treasure their current fans and are constantly repaying our love and support the best way they can. They are always working harder and harder just so we can proudly call ourselves ahgases. Let’s give a lot of love to “Never Ever”, and show the boys how thankful we are. 💚💚💚
