If im ever like overwhelming or something pls feel free to tell me to shut up dndjjfjf eventually i’ll actually sit down at the piano and properly compose but for now its just got lyrics
“Sleep, sleep, my little child of starlight…”
Thoughts swirled, a hazy mist of where am I, when did Kirby get so big, what happened, how did I get here? that dissipated as quickly as it had arisen.
“Let the galaxies cradle your head…”
Nothing was amiss. Galacta leaned on the doorway, a soft smile on his face as he watched and listened to Morpho sing Kirby’s lullaby.
“In the morning, when you awaken…”
The piano music that is oh-so-faint and oddly all-encompassing hit a sour key, but only he seemed to notice.
“May your kindness o’er all the world spread.”
Though the song was over, the faint music continued playing. The wings of butterflies that cling to the walls waved in time with each note and every faint tick- tock-
One flapped its wings, once, twice, and took to the air, making its way to Galacta. He held out a hand, letting it come to rest on his finger. He brought it close, admiring the soft, warm glow.
When he looked up, the world around him had changed. What once was a cozy nursery was now a field, backed on one side by a looming cliff with ruins that sat in its shadow and climbed up its side.
The little butterfly fluttered off, heading back to Morpho. He spread his wings and lazily glided after it, wondering how long it has been since he’d last felt the wind between his feathers. It was nice, to fly again.
He joined his wife on an outcropping, plopping down next to her on the blanket she’d spread over the stone, careful not to knock any of the foodstuffs they’d brought with them over the edge.
“It’s a beautiful day.” She remarked.
“Not as beautiful as you.” He replied, and they both laughed at the cheesiness of his line. “How long has it been since we’ve done something like this?”
“You didn’t have to wait long for me, I hope?”
Morpho smiled and shook her head, handing him a cup. “I’d wait forever to be by your side again.” She raised her own drink in a toast. “To us.”
As the glasses met with a cheerful clink, the world around him froze, cracks spreading across his vision, chips falling away to reveal the void of space.
He blinked away the tears building up behind his mask and turned his attention to the person before him. Absolutely tiny, stars, was that child?! The person who’d torn him away from Morpho.
“You are the greatest warrior in the galaxy, Galacta Knight!”
A white-hot spark of anger pierced him. He hated that title it caused him nothing but PAIN-
“I challenge you to a duel!”
Pink eyes met golden in a furious glare. “Then a duel you shall have.” Galacta snarled, raising his lance and shield. “And you shall die like all the rest.”
