Being guided away from his own research lab along with her kind words, Shuichi couldn't help but feel himself smile at her positive encouragement. Truly, what would he have done if they never had magically bumped into each other during their time here? He simply couldn't fathom, it almost felt like the circumstances would never had existed if neither of them had that fateful day of encountering each other.

Come to think of it, I remember it was entirely by accident. I had bumped into her because I couldn't see her coming from my left and caused her pastries to spill all over the floor. Not only did I get an ear-full about it, but we both got in trouble for it because of the mess. In the end, I helped her clean it up… and after that, we became friends ever since. We've supported each other, just like how we are now.

It's a fond memory he had- yes he felt stupid in the moment when it happened, but he'll take it if it meant to have a friend like Kaede in his life.

"Yeah, you're right as always. Finding myself getting carried away is like when you get carried away with your cooking, but the intention is in a good place. The amount of focus it takes to make something perfectly in sync, regardless if it's a case file or a taste test, is something that we tend to do naturally. That's why it works out when either of us happens to pull each other out of our unintended focusing sessions. Otherwise, we would either stay hungry or end up sleeping on our equipment."

He responds with a sincere smile, pacing leisurely in order to enjoy the moment they have before anything else decided to spirit them away.

Decisions, decisions, the question that Kaede would ask him had him suddenly pondering in the moment. Her talent of cooking was extraordinary and the aroma of her dishes was certainly worthy enough to blow anyone away, himself included. The tough part was choosing one when any dishes he could remember her making was always so, well, perfect.

"Hmm… You're basically giving me the whole menu to choose from and you never fail to make me something to enjoy, Kaede…! How about… the chef's choice for today? If you need a key protein for inspiration then… how about salmon?" He offers with a shy smile, finding himself chuckling at her peace gesture and deciding to return it with his own! Her supportive and caring vibes, they're always so infectious to the detective that he couldn't help but reflect her kindness back with his own.

"Ah… since you came and got me, does that mean you didn't eat either, Kaede? I hope you make something for yourself, too, and not worry JUST for myself." A reminder that he is keen on making sure that she takes care of herself just as well!

"Ah..."

Now that, she didn't expect... Then again, for a girl as sociable as her, it was probably a rare sight to find her sitting by herself. She was situated under a tree on outside campus with a bento box. Usually she would just eat in the cafeteria, but.. Kaede wanted to be alone for a while. She was... tired, exhausted: stressed... the kind of state she didn't want anyone seeing her in. The girl had been working herself to the bone harder than usual the past few weeks, and it was really catching up to her. She always wants to be happy, bubbly, excited Kaede in front of others! Not this... tired looking, eyebags having Kaede that's slumped against the back of the tree, sighing.

So when Damon found her and walked up to her, she was caught off guard and looked a little nervous. But... when he says that: maybe company is what she needs right now. Even if she felt bad him seeing her look so tired, she wasn't exactly feeling better just sitting here alone. And so, she gives him a nod and a weak smile. "Yeah...that'd be nice. Thank you... sorry if I look a bit down. I guess I was a lot more tired than I thought, so it's been hard to really look and feel energized, lately. So I felt little bad if anyone saw me like this...but it really does make me happy you wanted to check up on me. I might...be a little quieter than usual, but if you don't mind that... then I'd love to spend some time with you! Thank you again..."

Inside  his  observatory  spot,  he  has  been  noticing  how  hardworking  Akamatsu-san  devoted  herself.  Coming  from  his  more  detached  perspective  inclined  to  judging  other  Ultimate’s  talents,  and  actually  watching  in  which  extent  they  actually  use  concerned  talents  for  the  sake  of  that  greatest  goods  they  improved  themselves,  his  opinions  remained  less  unbiased  than  compared  to  another  view.  Though,  in  consequence,  that  arrogance  and  obsessing  perception  concerning  talents  explorations  didn’t  helped  him  much  to  find  good  manners  to  be  around  them.  He  would  always  been  the  one  exposing  couple  of  comments  about  what  he  has  been  perceived  before,  and  oh,  got  some  arguments  in  his  sleeve  if  someone  disagreeing  with  him  ---  for  be  his  actual  job.  Something  that  seemed  ridiculous  and  easy  when  he  was  facing  Akamatsu-san  busy  schedule,  in  which  such  hard-work  wasn’t  going  to  stop.  Him,  it’s  was  depending  of  his  clients  and  in  which  measures  he  would  be  necessary  he  would  need  in  a  debate.  Less  work  than  her,  less  pressure  than  her,  a  good  revision  of  arguments  still.  Since  he  remained  the  solitary  one  in  middle  of  the  corner  of  the  academy,  it  has  been  an  opportunity  when  she  perceiving  her  standing  herself  alone  under  a  tree.  Maybe  he  was  witnessing  something  he  shouldn’t  have,  but  she  could  be  reassured,  he  would  keep  his  lips  closed  upon  that  kind  of  things  that  seemed  to  be  his  speciality.  If  someone  needed  to  watch  what  cannot  be  witnessed,  it  would  be  him.  As  little  his  presence  was,  if  he  could  bring  a  comforting  support  to  her,  he  would  have  felt  useful,  beyond  to  accepting  to  develop  their  bond they had.

❝  Hey,  don’t  burn  yourself  out.  ❞  If  he  was  proudly  exposing  a  snake  of  his  tie  as  a  reminder  about  kind  of  person  he  might  be,  his  lips  would  always  remember  that  fact.  It  was  an  attempting  nicer  manner  to  request  her  not  doing  too  much,  not  to  overwhelming  herself,  as  he  supposed,  not  many  people  might  invite  her  to  slow  down.  He  sensed,  of  course,  the  pressure,  and  the  anxiety  coming  from  her,  nevertheless,  managed  not  to  take  it  personally,  and  ignore  it  mentally.  ❝  You  don’t  have  to  apology.  It’s  understandable  afterwards  all  the  hard  work  you’ve  give  yourself,  your  body  needs  some  rest,  that  you  should  get,  and  of  course,  that  you  cannot  act  as  energic  as  you’re  used  to.  ❞  He  reassured  slowly  as  he  moved  towards  her  position,  within  an  understanding  look,  smiling  when  his  ears  reached  her  happiness  of  him  checking  on  her.  His  meal  was  with  him,  since  he  has  been  ready  to  eat  alone  until  he  decided  to  evolve  himself  ---  ❝  I  wouldn’t  mind  if  you  are  quieted  than  usual.  Busy  schedules  are  the  worst,  doesn’t  it,  for  the  youth  like  us?  ❞

“That smells delicious~ Mind if I give those leftover chicken bones to the cats out here?” he asked, from where he was idly leaning against the kitchen’s windowsill. “They’re pawing at my legs right now, and I can’t say no to their cute fluffy paws — ah, unless those chicken bones have been seasoned, of course. Don’t wanna risk harming their tummies.”

"I was just wondering if there were any positions open here? I can work as a server."

Vincent had just moved once again, and is looking for work. He's not yet in a place to reopen his own store. Any job will do while he's still moving around. He just needs to actually not be fired for once.

It's difficult to try and live a normal life, but it's a battle he keeps fighting. He has no choice now. The path is unclear.

"This is a little different from my experience, I am afraid. I have worked in plenty of cafes, and bakeries though. So I am used to dealing with people."

"I've heard a lot of good things about you, and this place, it's a nice to meet you."

It was almost a bit jarring seeing someone so confident and outgoing as Kaede have her nerves be this wound up. Though he supposed that even someone like her wouldn't be immune to such thoughts. He probably wouldn't be either even if he was an Ultimate himself.

“Well, I don’t think you have too much to worry about. It’s like you said; you’re an Ultimate. The academy scouted you you’re one of, if not the best at what you do,”

Makoto leaned forward, looking straight at Kaede form his spot next to her, gesturing with one of his hands. “I mean, you’re amazing at cooking, and sushi making is your specialty. It’s like your whole thing! I’d honestly be surprised if they weren’t impressed by your skills! Your dad probably wouldn't have recommended this to you if he didn't think you were up to the task,”

Then he sat back upright, flashing Kaede a grin. “I think that if you just keep doing what you normally do, then everything will turn out alright!”

"Hm?" Red hues looked up from his meal, french fries and chicken nuggets with a soda drink for starters after a good workout with Motoha at the best restaurant in Shibuya. The seat across from him was empty, true, but then with a quick glance, he noticed that all the other spots were taken in a short amount of time.

"Um, sure... go ahead." He gestured for the girl to sit down with a small, polite smile. She didn't look familiar at all, but perhaps that's about to change. "Did you order something already?" He queried out of curiosity.

She was a mess of filth and broken bones when she saw the light leaking out from the house's backdoor. It was rare Iako would stumble this far into the city, keeping to her alleys and fighting pits where she'd knock some poor sucker out and earn enough to eat that night. That was what usually happened. But now she wandered in a concussed daze with empty pockets and an emptier stomach. (Spitefully, she took pride in knowing she hadn't been knocked out. No one had managed the feat yet despite her size.)

Though it was the light that drew her in like a moth, the rest of the city being mostly dark thanks to the hour, it was the smell of something freshly baked that made her take her trespassing to the next level and try the knob. Unlocked. Maybe she was hurt more than she realized and was now seeing things but if she was, the bread on the counter was a welcome illusion. It was soft and fluffy in her hands and sweet in her mouth. For someone on the verge of starvation, covered in blood and barely standing... it was probably the best thing in the world.

She'd scarfed down half the loaf when her legs finally lost the strength to remain upright and Iako collapsed but made sure to take the rest with her. And that's where she would be found, half conscious, mindlessly chewing and warmer than she's ever been. Hell, she didn't even hear the footsteps almost twenty minutes later.
