american horror story fics
summary: Violet Harmon is a new student at Westfield, and quickly becomes the star of the track team. But can she keep her hands off her coach, Tate Langdon?
my review: interesting au, and teacher/student fics are not for everyone, i know (hell, age difference fics aren't for everyone, either), but i like the set-up and the relationship between tate and violet. also, captivation is just awesome
carillon by the book of nightmares
summary: He hears bells in his head whenever his emotions surge and around her they've been surging a lot lately.
my review: beautiful. absolutely beautiful. i'm a total sucker for prose that seems almost like it's poetry, with all the imagery and figurative language. i want to curl up in this fic and sleep a hundred years sandwiched between violet's bird bones and the bells ringing in tate's head
summary: "She had had the air of remoteness that children, especially impish children, retain for some time after brushing through death" –Nabokov
my review: something's up with violet, and tate can't wrap his head around it, and damn it makes for a sexy one shot. ugh gray glube is everything to me
summary: Her grief is ocean deep and burns like a gallon of saltwater going down. It chokes her and she's satisfied for it, she's more suited for it than she was for love.
my review: ANGSTY SMUTTY ANGRY HOT BEAUTIFUL TRAGIC SEXY GOODNESS THAT IS ALL
pairing: leah/violet, tate/violet
summary: There are noises and glimpses of things that she notices. It's much less intimidating than that first time, the only time before when she walked into the house blitzed, amped up on diet pills and a half gram of cocaine.
my review: god i just love leah and when she's incorporated into fics so heavily like wow i have the weirdest fascination with her and of course this does not disappoint at all, but then again, how could it? it's gray glube
fifteen blows to the back of your head by iloveyou123
summary: it's always best when the light is off.
my review: remember how i mentioned i fucking love leah fics? because i really do ugh this one is lovely and all in lowercase which i am bias toward because yeah and there are quotes from climbing up the walls by radiohead, which is one of the ultimate tate/general ahs songs for me and WOW JUST LEAH/VIOLET OTP SIGH
the finish line by howlsatthemoon
summary: She catches him in the backyard, dozing off in the gazebo, the sunlight reflecting off his golden hair and the hint of a smile on the pink of his lips. A worn copy of a collection of Byron's poems and plays lies forgotten across his lap, the page folded where he'd been before he drifted off. This is when she likes him best. / Moments with Violet and Tate that we missed.
my review: so this amazing fic starts off all fuzzy and fluffy and sugar-flavored and it's so beautiful and perfect and it just makes you want to go and fall in love. but violate cannot stay that way for long and even though the end tears my heart apart it's still wrenching and tragic and wonderful and sigh another one of my absolute favorites
summary: How can you fix something when you yourself are already beyond repair?
my review: best when read after pheromones' other amazing fic limp, which is on this list down in the chapter fics section but it's perfectly angsty and perfectly smutty and like wow

summary: This house is filled to the brim with ghosts, but you are the only monster.
my review: awesome au, killer soundtrack, beautiful writing, great ending, fucking mad girl's love song quote at the end and in the title uGH this fic is pure gold like i would go as far as to say it's my favorite ahs fic out there of all time
latex i love you's by shootingstella
summary: She needed him. And if there was one thing he needed more than his suit, it was her.

milk it by scarlettwoman710
summary: "Listen, we don't have to be like we were before," Tate murmured. "We're different now, I get that. It's not going to be all lovey-dovey bullshit. We'll be more like Sid and Nancy than Romeo and Juliet."
my review: sex competition between tate and violet okay that is all you need to know
the not quite by mktoddsparky
summary: /It will never be the kind of perfection that everyone else desires because they're stuck in time with their desires that will never be fulfilled; but it's perfection nonetheless, the blackest kind./ Or, running in circles, eternity at its darkest.
my review: i'm a weird little sucker for repeated phrases that makes prose seem like poetry and so this is amazing and it's just really really really good
secondhand smoke by howlsatthemoon
summary: Because even if he's been dead for fifty-something years and she for just a decade, children is all they really are.
my review: i love the back and forth that they have and the precarious relationship they've drawn between themselves post-finale and also howlsatthemoon is gr9
sharpen up those dragging hooks by littleindentree
summary: After they scare the first family out of the house, Violet begins to punish Tate.
my review: another awesome creation by littleindentree with unique chalkboard communication and angsty violate and overall loveliness
the sporting life by ohyellowbird
summary: Tate keeps finding notes in his locker and is about to discover who hass been writing them.
my review: i just really love the set up with clever little violet leaving those insane notes in tate's locker ugh everything ohyellowbird writes is just so unique and great
the w o r s t kind of lonely by mktoddsparky
summary: /"your lungs will give out on you if you keep that up," they say, gesturing to the cigarette in her hand. "you'll die." she kind of laughs, wonders when the thought of death became better than the pretenses of living./ Or, Constance's last days.
my review: no one ever writes about constance like this because unfortunately all people seem to care about is violate (which admittedly is one of my reluctant traits) but ugh it's really good
the curve of her lips by ohyellowbird and scarlettwoman710
summary: When Tate Langdon escaped his old neighborhood for Hollywood and fame, he thought he'd never go back. Now, seventeen years later, visiting his mother to plan Adelaide's funeral, he meets a girl that begs the question: Could he ever leave?
my review: who in this fandom who regularly reads fic hasn't heard of the curve of her lips frlz it's absolutely flawless with all its forbidden love and taboo and age difference hotness and gOD THIS FIC IS GREAT FUCK FUCK FUCK

furnace room lullaby by littleindentree
summary: "Nothing, not even light, can escape." A Violet/Tate AU mystery-horror murder ballad set in 1994.
my review: au set up where they're both alive, beautiful writing, interesting where the plot is going, creative details strewn throughout and it's just amazing
summary: "Romeo couldn't live without his Juliet, Sid couldn't live without his Nancy, and Tate Langdon certainly couldn't live without his Violet Harmon."
my review: favorite violate smut ever seriously they just get really into their first time and that may be gross to some people and tate says some fucking weird as hell things during that sex scene but they're TATE THINGS TO SAY WHICH MAKES IT AMAZING OKAY people are always like "tate is this gentle angelic little daisy who only says good pure things to violet!" during sex scenes and i'm like yo pheromones holla
momma, i'm in love with a criminal by venomoxide

my review: so so promising already after only a couple of chapters and there's plenty of leah and awesome au-ness that's so unique plus tate is a super creepy and mysterious and sexy killer neighbor and who doesn't love that am i right ladies

summary: Oh, how it burns. Oh, how he burns her.
my review: such a simple but poignant writing style with super amazing characterization and dialogue i love it
tate's conscience by thedevotchka
summary: Tate hates high school. He hates his girlfriend, fake friends and his 'promising track career'. It's not what he wants. He wants her... the pretty, peculiar new girl. Only problem is? She can't stand him and he can't seem to change her mind.
my review: i think tate is super spot on in this with the whole "kiss or kill" mentality that evan peters once mentioned but is never quite done right in most other fics but this is perfect
