It's June, the evenings touching our skins like plush, milkweed sweetening the sticky air which pulses with moths, their powdery wings and velvet tongues. In the dusk, nighthawks and the fluting voices from the pond, its edges webbed with spawn. Everything leans into the pulpy moon.

there will never be anything as funny as the mutual disbelief between long form and short form fic writers about each other's style.
short form writers look at people writing 100k+ fics as though this is some sort of talent given as part of a fae bargain, that the commitment required shows some sort of ungodly mental fortitude.
meanwhile long form writers look at people writing 1000 word one shots like god I would cut off my left nipple to be able to say anything concisely. i would love to play with multiple ideas. free me from the shackles of this child I have birthed. i love them but I now must take them to t-ball and doctor's appointments and they're going to destroy everything I own.
Supergirl (2026) dir. Craig Gillespie
btw it's so fucking stupid you can be anxious physically in your body even after you've decided mentally you don't care. I'm supposed to be in charge here
[looking at people younger than me] you have your whole life ahead of you [looking at people older than me] you have your whole life ahead of you [looking at myself] its over
baby girl I don't know what that acronym means. it would be so sexy of you to write out that piece of media's name in its entirety. Just the one time for momma please.

randy being questioned by the police after benson dies.
they take away his clothes for evidence and give him a set of plastic scrubs and a paper thin blanket. he’s shaking the entire night—not from the cold but from fear. he’s stuck in a small room for hours until a pair of detectives walk in. he feels cornered.
they ask him questions, trying to figure out if he’s involved or not. by the time they’re even able to ask if he helped benson in any way, randy’s sobbing. his fingers are picked bloody, and there are crescent shapes in his palms from his nails.
he apologizes for everything and tells them how it’s all his fault. the more he explains, the more confused the detectives get. randy blames himself for everything, but the actual story has nothing to do with him.
he tells the detectives that benson wanted to ‘fix’ him, that nobody would have died if he had been stronger or ‘more of a man.’ they ask him if he physically did anything, and randy describes how he helped clean the restaurant after the shooting because he was afraid benson would hurt him.
the detectives come to the conclusion that randy wasn’t involved and allow his mom in to see him. she had been waiting in the front office of the precinct since she heard that randy was in trouble. the moment he sees her, he starts hyperventilating.
he’s right back to where he started. he’s stuck with his mother in a town he hates. benson isn’t here to help him anymore. benson left randy stranded in a world they both know he can’t survive alone.

write insane shit that’s way beyond your perceived ability and skill level even if you don’t finish it even if you think it sucks
