Was v fun to draw Ahsoka again, and also some lf of the different stages in her life 🥹 Baby ’Soka makes me weep 😭❤️🩹
(very lengthy ahsoka tano character analysis and spoiler warning)
Ahsoka Tano does not appear in the Ahsoka series. Now, before you get angry, let me explain what I've observed that changes her the most and makes her seem so different:
1) Ahsoka is loyal. Loyal enough to risk her life to save a single clone, her friend, who tried to kill her. Loyal emough to follow Anakin on all his crazy adventures and almost never question him when he was hurting. But Ahsoka isn't blind- she actively adapts to the situation and observes, which is why she left the Order. She is loyal, but not so loyal she ignores the hard things. Leaving the Order was a slow build up for her, not just the result of the hypocrisy of the Council. Ahsoka would never leave Sabine, even if it got hard.
2) Ahsoka is not a Jedi. In Rebels, she is comfortable not being one, and never claims to be one. At the end of Clone Wars, she still wasn't totally closed off to rejoining- but by Rebels, she's confident in her identity as an outlier. Whatever happened in the 13-15 undocumented years of her life, she has made a decision. Rebels did her justice because it didn't try to make her a Jedi, it showed and accepted that she was something else entirely. The Ahsoka show treats her like a Jedi- one of her main internal struggles is the age old "we were trained to be keepers of the peace, not soldiers. But all I've been, ever since I was a padawan, is a soldie." This is a perfectly fine internal conflict, and I believe one she would realistically have had. The problem is, Ahsoka no longer believes herself to be a Jedi. Now, I'm not saying nothing could change her mind, but I'll get to that later.
3) Ahsoka has already made her decision. In Tales of the Jedi, she was tired of fighting, but ultimately her sense of duty won out and she rejoined the fight. The Ahsoka show treats it like she's still struggling eith this- which is totally plausible! The Empire has been defeated, she's supposed to be able to rest now. She's allowed to be tired. The thing is, she's grown as a character. She's learned that there won't be rest until things settle down, and she’s come to terms with the fact that she is important to this fight. Besides, this is a fundamental misunderstanding of her character: It's not that she doesn't want to fight, not that she doesn't want to be a soldier; it's that she wants to figure out what her role is. She wants to figure herself out, and while she was still struggling with being a Jedi/not being a Jedi, she wanted to figure out what a Jedi is. By this point, however, she has (as I stated before) become comfortable with not being a Jedi. Her identity isn't based in being a Jedi anymore.
4) They took Rebels Ahsoka's sense of peace, joy, contentment, and understanding and traded it for an unclear personality. She doesn't need more character development, she's had so many shows of it. Have her be a mentor now, someone who helps someone else with their character development.
Okay, now that we've settled that, here's a few problems with the show concept itself:
A) This is not about Ahsoka. This is about the Rebels. Ahsoka has no business being in this show, it's about Sabine and Hera and Ezra. Ahsoka could still appear as a guide, but not as the main character. The show concept is not bad, I like it! But Ahsoka doesn't need to be there.
B) They’re afraid to end Ahsoka's story. This is common with authors and screenwriters, not knowing how to end the story of a beloved character. The thing is, her story could end (she doesn't even have to die lol), and that wouldn't have to be the last we saw of her. Pro tip: If you want more of a character whose story already has an ending, don't drag it into the future. Look to the past! An excellent show about Ahsoka would be on concerning either the 15 years she spent with the rebellion pre-rebels, or the time after Rebels and before 1 ABY.
C) Said it before, say it again: Ahsoka is not main character material in this time. She has already gone through so much character development, so much growth, so much learning- she would be SUCH A GOOD mentor character in this context. A character doesn't have to be struggling to exist.
Now here are my few ideas for paths an Ahsoka show could go down that are ACTUALLY about Ahsoka:
1) (22 bby- 10 bby) Ahsoka is not a Jedi, and she’s trying to figure out who she is. She finds her identity in something other than the Jedi Order. She fully becomes something seperate, and she becomes okay with not being a Jedi.
2) (7 bby- 10 aby) Ahsoka is a Jedi, and she’s trying to define what a Jedi is. As one of the few remaining people who was around pre-Order 66, she's expected to know about the Jedi. She turns to the past and investigates the old Jedi, from before the Clone War when they were still peacekeepers. She still has her sense of peace and joy from Rebels, but also a sense of curiousity as she uncovers what the Jedi used to be. This could also be a good way to introduce more Old Republic pre-prequel action (actually good this time tho not like acolyte)
Okay that's all for now, I encourage discussion and differing opinions! I thrive on conversation!
I have a couple of modifications to make to the dress after it's first outing but overall very pleased with how it came out! 💛

I recently had to make a rock pet for a class project and got a little carried away like usual, so enjoy Ahsoka the rock pet!!!
The Ahsoka Vs Vader fight has honestly gotta be one of the best fights in Star Wars. The emotion and build up behind it is insane and I’ll never get over how far apart anakin and ahsoka had drifted. Gotta be one of my favorite Star Wars moments.
