This seems like I don't have a lot to say about Delta... but I do! Now, most of the RVB characters are some form of blorbo, but the AI Fragments hold a special place on the blorbo shelf in my heart. In particular, Delta is just... so neat? Like, he's the logical one, yeah, but he also cares so MUCH about a lot of things and a lot of people. He definitely gives this vibe of compassion and kindness... but then he'll also just vote for murder as an option. Sure, there was some reasons, but it had a splash of revenge in there too. What a dude. Delta arguably got shown to us the most out of the AI (not counting either Church), but it still wasn't ENOUGH! Ugh, and this isn't just in reference to Delta, but I wish we could have seen more about what it was like when they became part of the Meta (that brief whisper of "Delta, we missed you"... it was both creepy, as intended, but endearing as heck! They missed Delta! Not just as a tool or a prize, but they wanted to be together again... and Delta missed them, too. On his "birthday", Delta briefly thought his name was Alpha, he had left-over feelings about being part of Alpha, and then he was taken away, told a lie about his existence, and only had brief interactions with the other AI before Project Freelancer fell apart. Then, after trying to evade capture from the Meta, Delta was there with all of them again). I would also carry Delta in my Digivice, though maybe my D3! Every time I want to scan a card I could say Digi-Modify, and get a cool activation sequence from Delta. Working as a dynamic is true for many of the characters, and with Delta... it is so cool to see how he interacts with others. In a weird way, he's really personable. He cared about York so much. With Epsilon's memories, we got to see Delta and the other AI work together, he's both helpful AND pretty funny!

This post just lives in my head rent-free now and I kind of want to entirely reconstruct RvB around the concept.

Also, Nova got bored one night and figured out that while you can’t copy an AI with all of their learned life experience, you can hand-copy elements of their source code and come up with something - for lack of a better description - between a smart AI and a basic AI. We’re calling them infants right now, though they’re not actually children, and he’s a made a small army of them. Also I got permission to make a CIM from my dead wife’s brain, which is much less weird than it sounds. She’s another full AI, and Portia views her and the others as something like siblings. She named herself Necessity as a joke. We pretty much let her do whatever she wants, right now she’s teaching Invention - that’s the oldest infant - how to swear in every single known Earth language and some known extraterrestrial languages. It’s driving the agents somewhat crazy, but not as crazy as Agent Beagle teaching Fabrication the underappreciated art of knock knock jokes.”
