tumblr is genuinely more fun to use, because whenever i talk about TDOV, i'm not gonna be met by some Gen X republican with middle school debate skills telling me i'm narcissistic for loving myself after 27 years of wanting to Kermit, lol

there was like... one interesting thing about The Purge and it was a short in-movie blurb about the Purge being used as a way to kill off underprivileged people (esp. the homeless) by literally legalizing killing for the night.

it was a really sobering look at how institutions use the legal system to enact violence against minorities, and how often it’s rebranded as a positive necessity like “it’s a way to Atone For Our Sins”, and especially so for what’s essentially a ten-second news clip on a tv in-movie

of course, the big philosophical theme explored in the movie was that Humans Are Inherently Bloodthirsty Killers, and that’s boring.

tbh i don’t get how people characterize tumblr as a hugbox; just look at the ace and SU discourse

as i’ve toyed with rpg maker mv (and to a lesser extent, vx ace), i feel like it’s important to note that the most limiting thing you can do when coming up with mechanics is worrying about what little knowledge of the engine’s capabilities you have before you start thinking of wacky ideas for character skills and gameplay function.

think of some goofy mechanics first. anything goes, really, and then set those aside and tinker with the engine until you have a fairly good grasp on how it works. then you can make it work for you - ESPECIALLY if you’re using rpg maker versions that allow scripting - and try to build those mechanics and tweak them until they both work with the engine and are to your taste. 

two of my favorite examples of this that i like citing are the Combo system in LISA:you can string together “combos” using the WASD keys when fighting to use a special skill (if that actor has that ability, of course) - and the Afterlife in Hylics: when you die, you don’t Game Over, but you’re sent to a level where you can grind up the meat you’ve collected from fallen enemies to boost your maximum hp, and rest on the couch to restore your FLESH (health) and WILL (ability points). from there, you can warp to a checkpoint!

tl;dr don’t worry about what you think the engine can do at first; it’s there to help you realize what you want to do. only worry about it when you’re actually making the mechanics in the first place.

i'unno why i feel the need to justify myself (mostly because i'm self-conscious), but even though transformation and giant/tiny stuff is weird (and for some people kinky), i just think it's cool stuff plus i don't blog about stuff i'd consider to be a kink so, rest assured, i'm not Kinking all in your faces

sorry/not sorry, but while i don’t think “demisexual” has a place in the broader parts of lgbt+ spaces, it’s always been pretty important in figuring how my relationships with people function, like

i’ve never loved or fallen in love with anyone i wouldn’t have considered to be a close friend first, and i’ve always felt weird for not finding people to be attractive to me in a romantic/sexual sense on first sight, and i don’t get “checking out” other people, like my inner monologue is just... “i guess their clothes are pretty nice? i like their makeup? they’re going to get a burger? am i supposed to want to have sex with this person? because i’m really not feeling it.”

but as people have said, that alone doesn’t mean i belong in an lgbt+ space, like. i could be cishet and demi and. guess what? i’d still be a cis person attracted to people i consider to be opposite my gender, even if the presence of that het attraction (or no attraction at all) is conditional. (for the record, i do belong as i’m a pan, mostly sapphic trans woman)

tl;dr i don’t believe being demi in and of itself qualifies as being lgbt+, but i’m totally for the label as a way of figuring out/putting a name to how one’s own attraction to others works

yes they can. the lowest note she hits in this song is a Bb2, which is well into the baritone range (the average cis man’s voice rests at about B2, or a half-step higher)
