On the one hand, cutting off aid transmission into Gaza doesn’t appear to have helped and has caused many international people to call what’s happening in Gaza a genocide (including several people who said they were supporters of Israel’s actions up until that point!), and I think (from my non-expert, non-Israeli point of view) that probably Israel should pull back, allow aid in, and say “you have until x date to release the hostages, or else we’re coming back in”
On the other hand, I can remember back when Israel and its spokespeople were like “here’s all the aid we let in just sitting there on the other side of the border, and here’s video proof of what look like Hamas people hijacking a truck, at this point it’s out of our hands” and the common reaction was still that Israel was intentionally restricting aid to Gaza.
(On the other other hand, I distinctly remember during this period a lot of Gazans and aid workers getting killed when they went near places where food and other aid were being distributed, so it wasn’t like the IDF was totally innocent in making it difficult to get aid to where it needed to go)
