Something just came to me. The fandom tends to write Lambert as prickly and with quite the anger problems at times. And Cat Witchers are known for being overly emotional or at least feeling emotions much more strongly.
So what if Aiden taught Lambert how to deal with his rage? Aiden is used to feeling too much and he wants to be a good person, so he had to learn some good, non destructive coping mechanisms.
And maybe that’s why Lambert calls him the best man he ever knew. Because despite feeling too much all the time, most of that rage or anguish, Aiden decided to be kind. To find ways to use his negative emotions for something good. And through that he helped Lambert to become a better person too.
