We would like to pay homage to Joep Lange and his team, dozens of scientist and researchers died in Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 crash. Lange, who was 61 and headed the department of global health at the University of Amsterdam, began his work on AIDS as a doctor and clinical researcher in the 1980s. His earliest contributions were scientific. He was the lead architect of many early trials of antiretroviral therapy and studied how to prevent HIV-positive pregnant women from transmitting the virus to their babies. We have lost a great man who wanted a cure for all; not the few. he was a great listener, scientist, researcher, and was very connected to HIV sufferers. His work will carry on because he was a great leader; and great leaders do not have followers, they build teams of more leaders. Whether the crash was calculated as a terrorist attack or to remove progress of these HIV scientists, it has torn a fabric of time not from their families but for the whole world. Namaste "be the change you want to see." #quoteoftheday #rip #joeplange #hiv #aidsrelief #eatclean #philanthropy #sustainability #sustainable #ecoconcious #humanity #scientist #malaysia #fear #love
