                         ❝ What are you   f i v e   ? – Ria c’mon I come and see you EVERY night … what, you a scaredy cat? ❞ Digits going to her side as he lightly tickles her. As she laughs he can’t HELP but smile – ❝ I forgot how ticklish you are … ALRIGHT, I’ll stay !!! ❞ as he acts if it’s a BIG fucking chore to linger in her presence. In actuality? He’s RELIEVED, he needed to be with someone tonight, and he’s glad it’s Maria. Usually Ben would stalk the streets, and probably duck into some BAR looking for the first person who showed him love. 

                           There’s a moment in which they’re looking into one another’s eyes. A familiar place that they’ve been SO many times before. He’s the taller of the two ( something he’s ALWAYS reminded her of ), and he’s going to do something he’s NEVER dared to do. It’s fucking cliche and he KNOWS it. Her FULL lips tremble for a moment as they’re BOTH aware of the moment that’s passing between the two, and head cranes down as he catches her lips in a kiss. A KISS that has him REELING – plush lips crash against his own as a hand goes to settle upon her delicate jawline, and he KNOWS there’s no turning back. Ben dips tongue into her delicious mouth, and sighs. Lips crashing against one another as one hand falls to her waist, and digits go to easily encircle it. LETTING her know that this is real, that THIS is no dream. 

                        FINALLY they break the kiss ( for, the fear of sucking the life out of one another ) Ben wipes mouth with the back of hand as he STARTS to apologize. ❝ I–I’m sorry I just … I didn’t plan on ANY of that. ❞ With ANYONE else he wouldn’t care, wouldn’t even give it a second thought. He USES people as they use him but, with Maria? It’s different. She’s the one person that he NEVER wants to hurt. ❝ W–Was that okay ? Shit, I’m sorry. ❞ He softly utters as hands rest upon both sides of her jawline, ❝ I don’t know what came over me … ❞

                         He watches her as she talks, and he can’t HELP but internally cringe he’s been her protector since,well for as long as he can remember. LUNGS fill as he tries to EASE himself into the situation. They’re BOTH so STARVED for love, for some sign of affection, and he can FEEL the weight of their demons rest upon their shoulders. 

                                      ❝ I don’t like him, your PARENTS have NEVER had your best interests at heart Ria, what’s his name JAMES ? ❞ Brow creases as he licks lips, and pauses, ❝ I love you Ria I just -- I don’t trust this guy ... PROMISE me that you won’t let him into your heart. It’s US against everyone Ria ... ❞ soft-spoken at the end, and perhaps it’s his FEAR of being alone that’s seeping into his aching BONES. The bones that have been chewed, and licked clean by so MANY. Heart beautifully shattered as fragments beat in an inordinately fashion.

            He’s been TAUGHT to land a wife whose pockets are DEEP, and while Alexander finds SOME sort of amusement in it all, he can’t but WANT more. He wants that YEARNING – the love that leaves one HELPLESS. The handsome immigrant had LITTLE to recommend him, YES he was on his way up but, as far as being a RICH man? He was very far from being that. The candles burned in some household, and as they flickered; eyes landed upon a beautiful woman with RED SKIRTS. Head falls to the side as he watches her movements, the way her digits grip rose plush skirts, and the way she charms the other men. SHE was beyond anything he had ever seen, and he finds it HARD to muster up the courage to say hello. Alexander goes to then offer a smile as she FINALLY meets his gaze. Going to down rest of champagne as he sets flute down, and goes to make his way to her side. 

              ❝           So, are you husband hunting? ❞ Tone teasing as he whispers ever so slightly into her ear as he goes to make his way to her side, and turn her way. ❝ Did you perhaps THINK of me?… ❞ He’s TOO bold, and Alexander knows this. Though, it doesn’t stop him – HE the loudest in the room. A smile plays upon lips as they curve upwards, and he goes to look into her eyes, ❝ Why haven’t I come across you before?– I’m SURE I would’ve taken notice.❞  He finally goes to bow ever so slightly LIKE a TRUE gentleman would, ❝ Alexander Hamilton. ❞

   His arm tightens from its place around his waist, pulling the smaller body into him as he presses his face into curly hair. When he hears her stir he grins widely, free hand coming to run through her hair. ❝ Good morning... I was thinking about making breakfast, you up for it? ❞

Alexander had a second chance to his live his life.  It may have taken him decades to figure it out and piece the puzzle together but the opportunity to continue on had been given to him.  It was beautiful truthfully.  

Though Alexander had to admit that his blood ran cold when Maria Reynolds found her way to his office.  He’d long since felt contrite over how he acted when publishing the pamphlet, when ruining the woman's life.  “Maria...I-”

                    ❝ ---So....what the fuck are you doing here? ❞ He can’t HELP that foul words leave lips. It’s just that, well? He didn’t think he’d run into her. Sure, he had HEARD that she still lived in New York but, there was a MILLION places she could be. He hadn’t figured her for lingering around Harlem. They had BOTH made something of their lives, and Alex had also skillfully destroyed a marriage since he left her. A marriage that HE thought would bring him happiness---what can he say? They weren’t on the same page about things, and she never REALLY wanted to settle down. It was REALLY his fault he had been too impetuous, and even his friends saw the two of them failing. A thing, that only FUELED his desire to get married, and quite stupidly so. Now here he is half a decade later as he holds coffee in hand, and expression is one of astonishment. 

                    ❝ Shit---I’m sorry... ❞ boyish smile have lips curve upwards as he goes to shift coffee in hands, ❝ I just...uhmm If I’m being honest? I didn’t think I’d see you... ❞ Alex eyes are ALREADY doing the once over. A habit it seems that he was NEVER cured of. Fuck, she looks good--looks HAPPY even? No, maybe content. He can’t help but think that this is a LITTLE bit of fate stepping in, ❝ So wait---   H O L D   on I’ve gotta hear how you’ve been doing... walk with me to the subway? ❞ It’s a LAME attempt to continue the conversation but, if she has places to be he doesn’t want to hold her up. He’s still wearing his wedding ring more of a habit than anything else.
