Fang and Aimee from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunters Series
Aimee: I'm glad you were able to move into a new house!
Cherise: Thanks! It was built in the 20s but was flipped in 2014.
Nick: Which means it's haunted but it has a lovely kitchen backsplash.
“Do you mind?!” @eyesseeingbeyondtheveil
♬ — a friend/best friend memory
After months of persistence on both sides, the resident mages finally accepted that there would be no keeping little blonde orphan Aimee from coming to call on her friends Oni and Glace, and thankfully, it seemed allowing her to do so kept her from troubling them for the most part. She had few other reasons to come, and so long as she and they saw eye to eye on this, they would have little to say about it. It wasn’t like they could stop her, anyroad, try as they might.Few were the days when Glace felt well enough to leave his bunk, let alone the infirmary tucked within the Conjurers’ guild. Their adventures could never be planned in advance, and relied upon day by day changes and the hopes that the better moments were not so far between. He dozed in a bony heap until the door was flung open. Startled though he was, no one else would ever arrive with the force of a windstorm.After some coaxing, he pushed himself to his feet and tested his legs, then scrubbed his face and threw on a shirt and a swimmingly too-large cloak to follow her out. This mid-sun was sunny, and neither too warm, nor too cool. Spring had gifted them nearly a moon early with mildness and green, and the first pips of gold and violet color decorated the edge of a pond within clear view of the Carline Canopy’s water wheel. None of them were ready to pick, for the buds hadn’t yawned out to full grace yet, but it was a favored spot when fortune favored their excursions.Glace sat back in the warmth of a sunny patch and watched, without understanding, his dear friend’s fascination with things that wriggle. Tadpoles and frogs, earth worms, and her attempts to fish with them tied to a thread on a stick, with no hook at the end. What he did understand about it was that he, too, had been a thing from under the earth, and she enjoyed him just as much as the other dirt dwellers. For that, he could find no fault in her amusement.
@eyesseeingbeyondtheveil for the mention
