airydisc replied to your video: This is the final movement, so it feels like...
my choir sang this earlier in the year and i was away for too many rehearsals so i couldn’t do it :( BUT on the bright side that meant i got to go to their performance, in a literal cathedral crypt, and i don’t think i’ll ever hear more spectacular choral music live tbh
GASP that sounds like it would have been a m a z i n g !! my sister’s choir is planning on doing it this year, but it’s unlikely I’ll get to actually go to the performance. I stole her score the other day to do a little sing-along with the Tenebrae recording, though, and had a marvellous time :) Fingers crossed you’ll get to sing it someday!

your art is incredible (as ever!) i want to watch this show just so i can follow along *___*
djfksldjf th ank,,,, <33 i would def recommend it tho!!! it’s heartwarming and positive and has a lot of interesting and compelling characters!!
@airydisc: “the marauders in divination classes circa fifth year, and sirius black very dramatically proclaiming, “I SEE THE GRIM!” and the other three snickering behind their hands”

6. when someone asks you for a music recommendation what bands/ artists do you say?
Does anyone just give recs? Like that? Without finding out about which genre the person listens to?
Anyway, obvs I tailor things to the genre people are looking for as much as possible and my blanket recs within my 4 big genres (acc. to spotify, anyway) are 3teeth (industrial), thunderpussy (rock), ezra furman (indie) and (assuming you’ve listened to all the prog greats) goat, king gizzard & the lizard wizard and the comet is coming (psychedlic).
7. how much do you actually like those artists, be honest.
OKAY who’s out there reccing artists they don’t actually like or listen to. Show yourself.
8. what is your biggest musical guilty pleasure?
I refuse to feel guilty about loving Starlight Express, the best ALW musical ever.
22. what artist did you try to like because you thought they were “cool”, but just couldn’t get into?
The one (1) time I tried to get into death metal as a teen bc my crush was into it.
The second closest thing to this is all the times I’ve tried getting in to Florence + the Machine but I just can’t! She has a perfectly nice voice, but I just don’t like that whole...thing.
23. what artist can you absolutely not stand?
on principle: fuck morrissey and also eric clapton
on sound: i don’t know their names but the ones who play in clothing stores and are completely auto-tuned computer generated. just, why.
also, carseat headrest, apparently.
20. A song that you’ve listened to on repeat recently, 30. A song from a band that you’ve grown up loving, 40. A song by a band from your hometown !!!
oh my god i’d done a whole answer to this and then closed the tab like a FOOL. take two!
20. A song that you’ve listened to on repeat recently
not a lot of individual songs in this category, but the closest i’m coming is King Missile’s Take Stuff From Work (it’s the first song on a great playlist of a buddy’s Quarentunes that i’ve been listening to a Lot)
30. A song from a band that you’ve grown up loving
while my knowledge of their music was limited to their Christmas album for most of my life, i have always adored The Roches! imagine my delight when i found out last year that their non-seasonal music was also fantastic. here’s Mister Sellack, a silly (?) song about begging for a job you’d quit
40. A song by a band from your hometown
my hometown has produced no bands :( the nearest metro area has produced k.d. lang (!!! YES!) but she’s not a band unfortunately! so here’s The Low Flying Planes, who have possibly split up since this was recorded, singing Bruno (because the internet just doesn’t have a recording of Wreckin’ Ball, which was what I actually wanted to recommend)

9 . A song you loved 5 years ago - oh god i went really into a rodgers and hammerstein phase right around this time 5 years ago lmao. went full cinderella so probably ten minutes ago
22. Your top most played song on iTunes - don’t have itunes anymore? lol. also don’t know how to check that on spotify but i’m sure it’s either abba or a 90s song
30. A song from a band that you’ve grown up loving - i was required to love the beatles growing up and I was successfully indoctrinated into it, but I’ll pick a song I didn’t love that much until I studied abroad in nz in college - yesterday.
a random guy from liverpool, literally from liverpool, was with his friends and he pulled out a guitar and started singing yesterday while we were all in this hostel together and i literally cannot forget how beautiful it was.
38. A song that you think is underrated - gonna refer back to my answer for another question someone else asked me - waterloo sunset by the kinks. It’s criminally underrated.
