any tips for dealing with construction? noise-cancelling headphones don't work and it's shaking the whole house - not to mention strangers at the house everyday. :S should only be for a few more days but in the meantime i'm gritting/grinding my teeth, pulling at my skin and i'm really on edge!
find stims that use the same senses! feel the vibration of equipment? rock or tap on things! hear construction sounds? find music with a beat!
does anyone have any other suggestions?

One-Bowl Fried Rice
Taken from this recipe, with a few adjustments! This is really tasty and good for when you super cannot be arsed making yourself a proper lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
1 cup of long grain rice
1 1⁄2 cups of water
1 cup of frozen peas/corn/carrots
2 slices of chopped bacon
1 teaspoon of minced garlic (or two cloves)
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of tomato sauce
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
Directions
Put all ingredients into a microwave safe container. Stir to combine.
Microwave on high for twenty minutes.
Leave for about five minutes.
Stir and serve.
Optional version for extra fanciness: Whisk two eggs with a splash of milk in a bowl and scramble them. Let the egg cool, then chop it into good-sized chunks. Set aside and prepare the fried rice in that bowl you just used, just wash it out first. Finish making the fried rice following the steps above, then fry it up with the egg for some actually fried rice! You can also add some sliced pineapple from a can at this stage if you're a total heathen. Garnish with some sliced spring onion. (Note: My pic is of Optional Version One-Bowl Fried Rice!) Serves one to two people, depending on how hungry you are.
