why is 13 so relatable just like her rambling on about getting a sofa like i was excited the other day about the possibility of getting a sofa and also rambling

this ep was truly the birth of 13/yaz brought to us by najia being like ‘are you seeing each other’ and the doc genuinely not knowing

i again also have a lot of feelings on the fact that the team places her in charge

AND on how her first priority in most situations is to keep the people with her safe 

like she’s the doc so she’s reckless and runs into situations but goddamn you can see that she’s trying and the number of times in just these present era eps she’s told people to stay back or physically put herself between them and the danger or the unknown

like she’ll be rambling out loud or walking into a wall or joking around but also soon as there’s danger she’s dead serious and like get behind me now

“i don’t see any mercy in you” i don’t know what it is about this line if it’s my general love of anytime 13 draws a line in the sand or if it’s the fact that Hotel Dude is a trump stand in or if it’s the fact that after that moment she just has to stand there, listening to him justify his actions, powerless and voiceless, looking so small as she’s forced to look up at him

it just strikes a chord

goddess bless 13 for being like this abandoned house mean business so i gotta roll up my sleeves

(seriously though who makes the rolled up sleeves decisions? because for continuity i can’t imagine it’s spur of the moment. anyway if it’s jodie then she knows what we want. if it’s not then i’d like to know so i can give them a medal)

she sees graham and ryan messing around with the mirror she’s like get back now

the way graham says ‘no please don’t do this to me’ hurts

13 figuring out the solitract with yaz is an a+++ scenes and jodie always deserves kudos but like ten extra here cuz i’m never over how she says ‘are you scared cuz i’m really scared’

the entire climax of this episode is just breathtaking 

the doctor just makes a friend in an entire sentient universe 

not into ranking things bc i think that’s some Bullshit but i do think this ep and demons of the punjab might be tied for my fav season 11 eps

i love that 13 concerns herself with introducing herself and the team but like...as quickly and efficiently as possible

i also love there’s no twisting her arm to get involved she’s just like my spidey sense says that someone here needs help and i’m going to help don’t argue

i never noticed that when she discovers it’s a dalek the camera angle tilts

she’s off kilter and suddenly we are too

i like how accustomed the fam is to the doc at this point just from the chair smashing to the intruder alert to graham being sent to fetch peanut butter

ugh the scene where she projects dalek controlled lin into the tardis just so she can threaten it

and then underscored by her theme!!!

they went hard with the score in this one

‘oh mate. i’m the doctor’ and her shit eating GRIN

‘slightly riled it and let it get away’ that’s a classic doctor move

she’s so pleased with plan and her extended fam and then the dalek still survives
