In Another Life- Clementine AU
So I clearly have a death wish writing two stories at once, but what the hell! Enjoy!
Prologue
“9-1-1 what’s your emergency?”
“Help! Please send an ambulance there was a car crash on I-95! The car flipped over!”
“Okay sir, please stay calm-“
“Oh my god! There’s a little girl!” He drops the phone on the ground and runs to the car.
“Sir?.... sir?.... Please hang on and wait till someone gets there! Hello… sir!”
The storm raged on in the cold empty town, it rained hard and long throughout rural Georgia. The man stepped out the car and put his hood on, he walked into Red’s Diner and headed for a booth in the corner. It was quiet for the most part nothing but truck drivers, waitresses, static from the old tv and light country jams playing in the back.
A woman searched through the jukeboxes playlist before noticing the man in the corner. The server brought him some coffee, as she watched him intently, she believed it was him, he was the her guy.
She headed to the table and sat across from him, he watched her hesitantly and pulled out her notebook and pen.
“The names Carley, I’m assuming you’re Lee, right?” She didn’t make eye contact until she finished writing.
“Yeah, that’s me.” He continues to drink his coffee.
“You have quite an interesting story, I’m glad you called me back to meet, it’s about time we heard your perspective of the story.” She sat her notebook down and set up her recorder.
“Yeah, something about the message you left me told me you’re a no bullshit kind of girl.” He sipped his coffee.
“No bullshit kind of woman.” She smirked at him as she took in his appearance. “Alright so I want all the details, don’t leave anything out. I’m also great at detecting bullshit so don’t try it, now tell me the everything from the beginning.” She leaned in closer and he began.
He stood in the mirror and watched himself as he put on the nicest suit he owned. He added a bit of cologne to his collar and his wrist before officially tying his tie. Before he could get deep into though he saw himself in the mirror, and man did he look good. His phone started ringing and he went to answer it.
“Baby, where are you the event is starting soon.” His wife told him. He could hear the impatience in her voice.
“I’m coming honey, I’m almost there.” Lee grabbed his coat and keys as he headed out.
“Lee Everett, are you just now leaving the house?” He could feel the argument forming and quickly approaching.
“Honey I will be there before the event starts, I promise.”
“You better. Look I want us to work, for things to get better… just get here before the events starts.” Her voice got a bit softer.
“I will. I love you.” He held his breath, waiting to hear the words back.
“Yeah… baby, I love you too, just hurry.” She rushed him off the phone and hung up. His head was hung low as he felt defeated. His marriage was crumbling before his eyes and it felt like there was nothing he could do to stop it.
Lee headed out the house and hopped into his car, setting out for the governors ball. His wife job consist of a lot of traveling while he worked as a history professor for the University of Georgia. He played The Temptations as he steadily rolled through traffic before hopping onto the highway. He checked the time 7:45pm, he had 15 minutes to get there before he’d be hearing her mouth all night. “15 minutes, no problem” he thought out loud as he turned the music up just a bit louder. As he shifted to face the road, everything in front of him flashed before his eyes. A couple of cars in front of him skirted and he joined the notion and watched a collision before his eyes. One car even flipped over and was hanging off the highway bridge. People stopped and got out there cars to see the horror in front of them. He looked around and saw no one making an effort to call the cops, so he did. He watched the car teeter back and forth as it hung rearing at the edge of the highway. As he called he couldn’t take his eyes off the wreckage.
“9-1-1 what’s your emergency?”
“Help! Please send an ambulance there was a car crash on I-95! The car flipped over!”
“Okay sir, please stay calm-“
“Oh my gosh! There’s a little girl!” He drops the phone on the ground and runs to the car.
“Sir?.... sir?.... Please hang on and wait till someone gets there! Hello… sir!”
Lee ran towards the car as he frantically searched for a way to save the little girl in the back. Everyone took their phones out as they watched the scene go down, only one other man came out to help rather than watch. The other man held the car down as Lee reached in for the girl, she was frightened and in shock.
“Hey sweetie, I know this is scary but you have to take my hand so I can get you out of this mess.” He reached out for her but she didn’t move.
“My… my parents.” She pointed to the body in the windshield and the empty driver's seat. The sight made him want to throw up, but he knew he had another objective.
“I know sweet pea it’s going to be okay. I won’t let anything happen to you.” He reached a little further in as the car teetered once more.
“Promise.” She asked.
“I promise.” He told her. He reached in almost touching her hand but the car teetered once more.
“I’m scared.” She retreated.
“Hey! Guy! I can’t hold this shit for much longer.” The man with the mustache yelled.
“I’m working on it!” Lee yelled back.
“Well work faster!” He retorted.
“Alright honey, I’m going to need you to take my hand so I can pull you out before this thing falls over.” Lee told the girl softly.
“No! No! No!” She covered her eyes.
“I know you’re scared, I’ve been scared before, and every time I get scared I breathe and I push through it.” Lee was very gentle though in this moment he was scared for his life. The little girl took a deep breath and reached for Lee’s hand. She almost was able to reach until she was pulled back.
“I’m stuck!” She tried not to freak out.
“I got you! Don’t panic just breathe.” He reached in and wiggled the seatbelt. If this car goes down, he’s going down with it. He got the seatbelt unlatched and pulled the girl out as they tumbled to the ground. The man and the few other people that helped let go of the car as it teetered more and slid down further. The little girl held onto to the man for dear life as she weeped. “I got you sweetpea, I got you.” He held her until the police and ambulance made it, they tried to take the little girl but she panicked during their attempts.
“It’s okay, the nice people just want to make sure you’re okay.” He comforted the little girl. She let go to get checked out but continued to hold his hand. “It’s okay. I’m standing right here, I won’t let anything happen to you.”
The sun had set and Lee completely lost track of time. He went to go check his phone when he saw that he has 12 missed calls from his wife, it was better to not call her back right now, today was stressful enough. The little girl quickly came darting back to Lee and held onto him as the medical help tried to take her away. The man that helped with the wreckage also approached them.
“What you did there was very noble man, I don’t think most would of done what you did.” The man shook his hand.
“I’m sure they would of. She’s a little girl, I couldn’t let her go down like that.” Lee told him.
“Well you deserve a medal or something, how about buy you a drink sometime. My wife and kid are in the car, but here's my information, let me know when you want to use it.” The mustache man put his hand on Lee’s shoulder.
“Thanks man, what’s your name.” Lee put the paper in his pocket.
“It’s Kenny. Call anytime, I’m a commercial fisherman so I’m up and about all throughout the day and night. Have a good one!” Kenny walked away and headed out.
Lee bent down to the girls level and held her.
“Please don’t leave me alone again.” She cried. “Those people tried to take me away.”
“Alright. I won’t honey.” He rubbed her back. “What’s your name?”
“Clementine, it’s Clementine.” She looked up to him.
“Alright Clementine, i'll stay right by your side.”
The ambulance tried very hard to split the two up but Clementine was very adamant about sticking with Lee, so they headed to the hospital. She got checked up and she was fine besides a few cuts and bruises. The doctor Hershel pulled Lee aside to chat about his relation with the girl before turning it over to CPS. The CPS lady Bonnie couldn’t find any other relatives that would take Clementine in, so she was officially an orphan. Lee immediately signed on to be a foster parent until further notice. Bonnie normally wasn’t supposed to do this but made sure to help Lee in his case. Though he couldn’t take her home that night, she promised he could see her tomorrow and they could check out his place and do a background check to see if he was suitable to watch a child.
Lee finally headed home after a crazy day promising himself to check on Clementine tomorrow morning. He knew he needed to prepare his home for her, for a kid, and yet the idea of raising a kid wasn’t nearly as scary as the fight he was preparing to have with his wife. He pulled into the driveway and headed into the lavish home, it was not made for a kid. He walked through the garage and into the house and he was ready to hear it.
“Oh thank God!” She ran up to him and hugged him. “Are you okay?” She started checking him.
“I’m fine, wait… how do you know what happened.” Lee was completely taken off guard.
“I was completely livid when you didn’t show up tonight, but when you weren’t answering my calls I got worried, then I saw the news. You saved that little girl! They had a video and everything, i'm just glad you’re okay.” She hugged him once more.
“Speaking of the little girl-“ She cut him off.
“Let’s get you out of those clothes, then we can talk.” She led him to their room and he started to change seeing a bloodstain on his white shirt giving him flashbacks of the previous incidences.
“What I wanted to talk to you about.” She started to kiss him hinting at what she wanted, but he knew what was more important. “That little girl… I’m her foster parent for now, of course until I can adopt her.”
“Excuse me, what!” The woman bounced back completely. “You signed up to foster a child! Before talking to me about it first!”
“It was in the moment, she had nowhere to go and I couldn’t let her fall into the system Elaine.” Lee got up to keep changing.
“Lee this is not an environment for children, we have glass everywhere and-“
“The only reason we bought this house is so we can have children!” Lee snapped a little.
“Lee you know I can’t.” She turned away from him.
“No, you can, you just don’t want to.” Lee started to get frustrated. “Before we got married you knew how bad I wanted children, then when I wanted to try you changed your mind. Elaine I’m working with you as best I can. Look this is something new and I think it could help us-“
“Bringing a child into the equation is not going to help us Lee!”
“Can we just try? Look if it doesn’t work out we are only fostering her, and if it does then we may actually have a family.” Lee pleaded.
“I thought we already were one.” She stormed into the bathroom.
“Elaine…”
“Okay Lee, I’ll try, but not for you, for that little girl.” She climbed into bed.
The next day came and Lee woke up extra early to do anything he could to make Clementine more comfortable and kid-proof the house. Around 8am Elaine and him headed to go pick her up. When they got to the foster house she stayed at, her face immediately lit up at the sight of Lee.
“Lee!” She beamed and ran to him. “The lady said that I can live with you, but I had to wait till today.”
“Yeah sweet pea you’re coming with us, this is my wife Elaine.” Lee introduces the two.
“Hi Clementine.” She shook the little girls hand.
A year had past and Lee and Clementine had only gotten closer, her taking up most of his free time. Bonnie has checked their place and throughout her visits it got more and more kid friendly. Elaine and Lee only grew more distant though, anytime Lee wanted to do something for or with her she never reciprocated, all she did was keep herself busy hardly even establishing a relationship with Clementine. Clementine was able to go to her parents funeral and even got to keep the cremations, it was hard for her but she only took a few things from her old house that could be in memory of them such as: her dads lucky cap, her walkie-talkies, a necklace that was her mother’s, and other small Knick knacks. She started to see a therapist and seemed better and better as time went on, as she stayed in school and even started to play softball. When the time came for Lee and Elaine to decide if they were going to adopt Clementine, Elaine couldn’t say no, she saw how happy Clem made Lee and knew it was the best thing for them.
Lee finally got the adoption papers back to confirm her adoption, and Lee wanted to make it an extra special night. He set up reservations for a really nice restaurant and even bought Clementine a pretty dress. Lee picked her up from school and headed home when he saw a car in the driveway that he’d never seen before. He was very suspicious but didn’t want to alarm Clementine.
“Who’s car is that?” Clementine caught on, she was a smart girl.
“I don’t know Sweetpea, but stay in the car I’m going to go find out.” Lee parked the car on the street and got out. “Hey lock the door and don’t open for anyone, okay?”
“Okay.” She did exactly what she was asked.
Lee walked inside and quietly crept up the stairs. It didn’t seem like anything was taken, but he did notice his wife’s keys. He continued up when he heard noises coming from his bedroom, he busted the door open to see Elaine and Senator Macintosh active in his bed.
“Lee!” Elaine coward as Macintosh hopped of the bed and tried to put his pants on quick. A rage took over Lee and he blacked out as he grabbed the man and started beating him senselessly. Elaine tried to stop him, but couldn’t.
“Lee!” A scared Clementine yelled from the door, which snapped him out of it. He got up from on top of the man and turned to her.
“Clementine.” She looked scared and stared at the blood dripping from his knuckles. He wiped his knuckles on his jeans and bent down to her level. “I’m sorry you has to see that, what happened to waiting in the car?”
“I got scared you didn’t come back for a long time.”
“I’m sorry I scared you honey.” She hugged him as she tried not to look at the man bloody in the corner.
“Lee-“ He immediately shout daggers Elaine’s way.
“You did this.” He picked up Clementine and led her out the room as they headed to the car and sat there. Lee didn’t know his fate but still wanted to give Clementine her gift.
“ I had a surprise for you today.” Lee looked at Clementine.
“Wha-what was it?” She looked at him. He handed her the box with a ribbon on out with a card.
“We got the adoption papers back and it was official that you’re an Everett, If you still want to be?”
“I do.” She didn’t hesitate as she cried and gave Lee a hug. “The man in there… was he bad?”
“Yeah Clem, yeah he was.”
“Oh.” She sat there quietly for a little. She started to unwrap the present and saw a very pretty dress. “Thank you Lee! Do you think it would look good with my hat?” She beamed.
“I think it would look great with your hat.” Lee half smiled to her.
The police and ambulance came and let’s say this was all over the news. Lee got arrested and the Senator was taken in an ambulance, luckily he lived and though he wanted to press charges due to the situation he wouldn’t to save face though not much of it was saved not to mention Lee was the man that saved a little girl from dying so for the Senator it was a losing battle.
Lee and Elaine ended up splitting, it was too much to stay there so Lee decided it was time for a change. He packed up and headed to Macon so that he could be closer to his parents and siblings. Though it was hard for Lee in the beginning it got better, a lot better. Elaine may now have been Clem’s legal mother but the two didn’t have a relationship, Lee asked nothing from her; after all she didn’t want a kid in the first place. Macon became home again and Lee was once again close with his family again, even finally accepted Kenny’s drink establishing a friendship with the man as well.
“There you have it Carley, did I bullshit?” Lee questioned.
“Not that I can tell.” She finished writing and stopped recording.
“Okay, now I have one off the record question… wanna do dinner sometime?” Lee asked.
“I don’t mix business and pleasure.” Carley smiled and started packing up her things. “But for you, I guess I can make an exception. You have my number, you know where to find me.” She walked away leaving Lee at Red’s Diner, he liked her, a lot.
Chapter 1
Modern AU: Clem's Incident
I finally finished it...
A.j. Says
Description: A High School AU where Clementine is suppose to be babysitting her little brother Aj while her father Lee is out on a date but when her boyfriend Louis stops for a surprise visit she must keep him hidden from her brother.
“Okay, how do I look sweet pea?” Lee said as he fixed his button up shirt.
“Wow dad, you clean up nice!” Clementine said as she finished the dishes.
“What’s that smell?” Aj walked into the kitchen with a weird look on his face. “And why are you dressed up?” He climbs into the barstool to get a better look at his father.
“It’s cologne and I’m going out tonight.” Lee said as he kissed the top of Aj’s head.
“Out where? Can I come?” Aj beamed at the opportunity to get dressed up and hang out with his dad.
“No son, not tonight, you’ll be hanging out with your sister.” Lee told Aj.
“Yup, because dad has a date.” Clem interjected as she took a seat next to her brother.
“What’s a date?” Aj questioned.
“It’s when you take someone out somewhere nice and get to know each other.” Lee answered his question.
“Oh. Sounds boring.” He claimed.
“Yeah well I can see why you would think that, but not if you’re with the right person. Alright guys I got to get going but here is some money to order food and call me if you need anything.” Lee packed his wallet and keys in his pocket.
“I got this dad, have fun, but not too much fun.” Clem smiled.
“Alright I love you two.” Lee said has he hugged and kissed each of them. “Goodnight. Oh and Clem, no one come over. Aj listen to your sister.” He eyed each of them as he headed out.
“Alright goofball, what do you want to eat?” Clem started to pull out the take out menus.
“Pizza!” Aj started to do the dance he always did.
“Aj, we always eat pizza. Why can’t we try somethings new.” Aj got a disheartened look on his face.” Fine pizza it is.” Clem rolled her eyes and Aj cheered.
The pizza came and of course Aj just got cheese pizza while Clementine decided to get herself a meat lovers pizza. The two even splurged and got brownies and soda. The night grew later and they watched a movie as Aj fell asleep from all the food he ate. Clementine texted her boyfriend Louis while the movie played on, no one at home knew of Clem’s boyfriend due to the fact that she wasn’t actually suppose to have one yet. The two texted till Clementine slowly started drifting asleep. As her sleep started to deepen she hears a knock on the door. Scared, Clem grabs her softball bat and approaches the backyard door. As she opens the door and steps out she hears a noise and takes a swing. Louis quickly ducks as he is almost knocked out.
“Hey!” Louis said slightly shaken from her reaction.
“Louis what are you doing here?!” Clementine tried to whisper knowing Aj was just in the other room.
“You never responded to my message when I asked if you wanted to hang out tonight, and when Marlon was taking me home I told him to stop here so I could make sure you were okay. Are you okay?” Louis said concerned.
“Yes Louis, I’m fine. I’m watching Aj tonight while my dad is out, I just fell asleep.” Clementine explained.
“Oh well I brought you emergency chocolate covered pretzels and sea salt and vinegar chips just in case, we might as well enjoy them.” Louis chuckled.
“I’d love to Lou, but I can’t have anyone over my dad will kill me.” She replies hesitantly.
“Oh okay. Well I guess I’ll just go, here’s your snacks.” Louis handed her the snacks sadly.
Clementine thought to herself, well Aj is asleep and if he only stays an hour he will be in and out before Lee knows.
“Fine. Come in, but be quiet Aj is a light sleeper.” Clem moved to the side to let Louis in.
“Clem I don’t want you to get in trouble especially since you haven’t told your dad about me.” Louis told her.
“If you only stay for an hour who will know but us.” Clem took his hand in hers.
“Are you sure?” He asked sincerely.
“No, but fuck it.” Clem pulled him inside.
The two tip-toed through the house as Black Panther played for the second time that night due to it being Aj’s favorite. They crept up the stairs to Clem’s room and she quietly closed the door.
“Clem!” Louis has a shocked look on his face.
“What?”
“Your room is a mess!” He teased her.
“Oh shut up you.” Clem pushes him onto her bed.
After arguing about what movie to watch for fifteen minutes the couple decided on Fast and Furious, and watched completely unaware of the time.
“Oh yeah I’m totally challenging Marlon to a street race.” Louis said as they watched the street race happen.
“Yeah whatever Lou, not that I wouldn’t bet all my money on you but Marlon would probably win, I could probably beat you. You drive like a grandma!” Clem laughed.
“I would never want to race you Clem, aren’t you on car number two already.” Louis shot back.
“Those weren’t my fault.” Clem thought about how she crashed both her previous cars.
“Well I guess we’d be loser together.” Louis smirked as he rubbed Clem’s hand.
“Loser together.” Clem smiled.
“The most attractive funniest of losers.” He kept adding. Clementine used to think of the time before her and Louis were together and how much she used to wish she could kiss him after he made her smile, now she could. Louis recognized that look in her eyes anytime it appeared. It was the look of utter love, she usually got that look right before she kisses him. Louis decided to take matters into his own hands this time and took her face in his hand as he slowly kissed her. As the kiss deepened the two fall back on the bed, but as soon as they did Clementines door busted open.
“Clem, what are you doing?” Aj said as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes. Clementine quickly jumped up and tried to block his view.
“Uh nothing-“ She was quickly cut off.
“Is that a boy? Ooooh” Aj got a mischievous look on his face. “Clem you broke the rules you’re not suppose to have anyone over here! And you were kissing!” Aj yelled.
“No we weren’t kissing, I had something in my eye and Louis helped me.” She lied to Aj.
“I saw you! You kissed a boy.” Aj had a disgusted look on his face.
“Please don’t tell dad! I’ll do anything!” Clementine begged.
“Anything?” Aj smiled.
“Yes Aj! Please.” She pleaded with Aj and he started to rub his hands together.
“Okay I won’t tell, but you have to do whatever I say or I’m telling.” He crosses his arms as he waited for his sister to accept the deal.
“Ugh. Deal.” They shook hands and already Clem regretted making a deal with a 5 year old. She turned around and saw Louis walking to head out. She waved bye to him knowing this was not going to end well, and that he needed to leave before her dad got home.
“Okay so what do you want?” Clem asked him.
Part 2 coming soon!
Forgiveness
One-Shot AU where Clementine visits Louis’s house for the first time, and he opens up about his past.
“This is your house!” Clementine stared as she stood in the middle of the driveway of Louis’s house.
“Yeah, this is where I lay my beautifully dreaded head at night, come on I promise there’s more than just the front.” Louis takes Clementine by the hand and leads her through the front door.
“Whoa, okay Louis you never told me you were rich.” Clementine looked around the luxurious home.
“Clem, I’m rich.” Louis teased as he watched her in awe.
“I knew I wasn’t just dating you for your looks.” She teased back.
“Yeah of course you weren’t, it was also my wildly charming sense of humor and my smarts of course.” Louis showed his toothy grin.
“Right, that.” Clementine eyed him. “where are your parents are they home?”
“Nah. There never here, always out traveling so it’s basically me... here... most of the time... by myself.” He fought the feelings of loneliness that crept up when he was at this house.
“Is that why you always want to come to my place?” Clementine looked concerned.
“Your home actually has a real family with Lee and Aj, this is just a house with a lot of shit.” Louis lead Clem up the stairs.
“Well anytime you feel lonely I can come here or you can come to my house- with my dads permission of course. Don’t worry I won’t tell him your parents are never home.” Clementine smirked.
“ I like the sound of that.” Louis lead Clementine into his room, and it looked exactly how you’d imagine. He had a king size bed with lots of pillows and satin sheets. His walls were filled with musical icons from Billy Holiday to Michael Jackson. He had the latest everything, but what stood out most to Clementine was the picture of him and Marlon as little boys sitting by his desk, and the picture of her and Louis on their first date in the photo booth where they shared their first kiss. He even had a picture with Aj at one of her Softball games.
“When did you take this, with Aj?” Clementine approaches Louis with the framed picture.
“We were at you softball game, and Aj told me I was his 3rd best friend. Behind you and Tenn of course.” He held the picture recapturing the memory.
Clementine continued to look around when she saw a candid photo of herself that she’d never seen. She was driving in the photo looking as if maybe she was singing.
“Louis, when was this?” She smiled at the photo he secretly had of her.
“Oh you know one of the moments when you were just being purely you. Not worried or caring about anything the world threw at you, just living.” Louis gazed into her eyes. “Actually this picture inspired a song I wrote about you.”
“Lou you did not right a song about me?” Clem started blushing.
“I did actually, I call it Clementine the fruit.” He smiled in his Louisy way. Louis went into his closet and pulled out a keyboard he had. She sat on his bed and watched as he set up and played the tune. Clem closed her eyes and thought of the moments her and Louis shared, from him spilling his lunch on her, and him awkwardly trying to clean it up to their first kiss in a photo booth and them saying ‘I love you’ for the first time in Clem’s car.
“Louis.” She said barely over a whisper.
“Yes?” He stopped playing to look at her. “What you don’t like it?” He got very nervous.
“No I love it more than you could ever know, and I love you more.” She sat up so she could see him better.
“Oh okay, then why’d you ask me to stop?” He questioned her.
“I didn’t ask you to stop, but I was wondering why your piano was hidden in the closet.” She watched as he shifted uncomfortably in the small bench.
“Because my parents don’t want me making music or to have anything to do with music.” He played with the keys.
“That’s ridiculous, music is like your life.” Clem said grimly.
“Yeah well dads motto is, you get to rich or you get to be happy.” He repeated in his fathers voice.
“That’s stupid, you should only do what make you happy.” Clem couldn’t understand.
“Yeah well try telling my father that. Look Clem I was over it, I am over it.” Louis got up and started putting his keyboard back.
“No Louis, this isn’t fair!” She followed him.
“No Clementine what isn’t fair is I broke up my parents marriage up because I wanted to get back at my dad for that stupid saying!” Louis was on the verge of tears.
“What?” Clementine took his hand in hers.
“Remember I told you I had to leave my family for awhile, well it was because I broke my parents marriage up because I wanted to get back at my dad. They sent me away and eventually fixed things but not with me, okay Clem. I came home but what I did is like an elephant in the room that follows me every time I’m with them. I regret it so much, even much more now because I couldn’t imagine if someone, my kid ran you out my life because of something stupid I said.” Louis swallowed his tears as Clementine dropped to his sitting level.
“I’m sorry Louis, I didn’t know.” She held his hands in hers.
“How could you. Look Clem, I just can’t bring up music around them not when it was the very reason I broke their marriage up. I can play by myself or with you, even at school, but not in front of them.” He started to squeeze back.
“But Louis, music is apart of who you are. That happened a long time ago and maybe it’s time you used your gifts to possibly change things.” Clementine sparked an idea.
“What do you mean?” Louis looked genuinely confused.
“What if you write them a song. That way they will see how gifted you are and also how sorry you are. It could work, but only if you want to do it.” She didn’t push him.
“I actually like that idea, will you help me?” He smiled at Clementine.
“Well I am the musical expert-“ Clem was met with Louis tickling her.” Stop! Stop! I give! I give!” Her laugh made his world go round. She stared at him with her amber eyes and he couldn’t help himself but to go in for a kiss. He slowly moves in as he brushes a stray curl away. He lays a kiss on her lips trying to savor the moment. Her hands naturally go into his dreadlocks as she pulls him into her. They kiss for a long time before Louis breaks away to kiss her neck slowly and precisely.
“Wait Louis, we have to write the song.” She smiled as she worked to stay focus. She slowly pulled him apart from her as he put up a small fight. “ Come on, there will be more time for kissing when we finish.” Clementine got up and grabbed a chair to sit next to him at his keyboard.
“Always the responsible one.” Louis followed in her lead.
“One of us has to be.” She smiled as she watched him work.
The two of them worked diligently, for the most part but not without tons of kissing and snacks. When they finally finished, the song was a song that could melt anyone’s heart.
“Uh thank you Clem for everything.” He said shyly.
“Of course Louis.” She smiled. He played the melody again as Clementine watched his fingers dance through the keys. “If your parents don’t like that, they’re heartless.” She stated.
“Well now that we are done, I guess we can go back to what we were doing a couple hours ago.
“Just for a little while, then I have to go, so I can keep seeing you after today.” She exclaimed indicating Lee and his reasonable strictness.
“Fine you’re right, come on I’ll take you home.” Louis got up to leave.
“Wait... I said we have little while.” She smirked with a teasing look in her eye.
Louis chuckled and took her face in his hands.
“I love you Clem.” He beamed.
“I love you too.” She smiled as he brought her in for yet another kiss.
Aj Says part 2//Multific
The garage door opens, telling the kids Lee is back from his date. Clem bends to Aj’s level to make things clear between them.
“Okay Aj, nobody was here just me and you all night. We watched Black Panther and fell asleep.” The two make their way downstairs and pretend to be sleep on the couch with Aj falling Clem’s lead.
Lee comes in and notices his children asleep, he gives each of them a kiss and turns off the tv. After Lee heads upstairs and the two get up and heads to their rooms. Clem closes her door and locks it then calls Louis.
“Hey” he answers.
“Hey, I’m sorry about my brother.”
“No don’t be I shouldn’t of came over in the first place, now your enslaved to your little brother.”
“Oh it can’t be that bad, I’m sure he’ll forget in a couple days.”
“Well it was fun watching movies with you, and uh- the other stuff.”
“You too Lou.”
“I guess I’ll see you at school.”
“Yeah will do.”
“Goodnight Clem.”
“Goodnight.”
The next day Aj acted like an angel, as if nothing happened which made Clem think he may of forgotten, but let’s just say she thought to soon. Throughout the week Aj drove Clem crazy with her having to do anything he asked.
“Aj! This room is a mess you need to come clean it now, or no dessert tonight!” Lee threatened, and Clem already knew what that meant.
“Yes sir.” Aj said innocently. Aj made his way to Clem’s room and had a mischievous look on his face.
“Clem, my room needs cleaning.” Aj leaned on the door as Lee often does.
“In a minute Aj I have to finish this paper.” Clem continued typing.
“Okay. Dad!” Aj began yelling making Clementine drop what she was doing and head to his room.
“Yes!” Lee called upstairs.
“Never mind I found it.” Aj followed Clem into his room as he got on his bed and read comic books.
It got much worse from there not only was Clementine doing all Aj’s chores on top of her own but she had to sneak snacks for him and take him anywhere he wanted to go after school, it began driving her crazy. A week and a half past before Clem became fed up. Clem’s seemed to be very irritated at school and Louis picked up on it, during lunch the two took some time together and Louis decided he’d try to help, even if it was it was to get her to smile.
“So uh- you look nice today.” Louis tried to start.
“Thanks.” Clem said dryly.
“Clem please talk to me.” She takes a deep breath before starting.
“ I should of never take a deal with Aj! I have to do whatever he says and I hate it! He strings what happened over my head like a $100 dollar bill. If I even look like I’m not going to do what he says or wait till I have time he starts to yell dads name, I just feel like I’m trapped.” Clementine felt good about talking about it for the first time.
“I’m sorry you’re in this mess, but maybe this is a sign to tell you it’s time to tell your dad yourself. Take the power away from Aj.” Louis was nervous about the advice he recommended. Clementine leans her head on his shoulder.
“Maybe you’re right.”
“Wait, really?”
“Yeah. I can’t let this go on any longer and the best way to get out of it is to tell me dad the truth.”
“Can I just say I’m the best advice giver, I’m going to have to go ahead and charge you for my services.”
“Not again. What do you want Louis?”
“A kiss.” Louis smirked.
“That I can do.” Clementine gave Louis a peck on his lips.
“Aww you can do better than that, put some thought into it!” Louis teased. Clem tried again actually sincerely kissing him and took her time. She hadn’t been affectionate with Louis at all since the incident and it felt good to touch him again. She broke away from her kiss and they rested their foreheads on each other.
“Tonight I tell my father about you, as long as I don’t chicken out.”
“You won’t.”
“Also prepare to never see me again, because I maybe dead.”
“You’ll be fine.” He takes her in his arms and they rest there for a second. “No matter what we’ll make it through this.” Louis held her.
“And if we don’t?”
“Hey I thought I was the one that’s suppose to be the pessimist in this relationship!” He teased.” Relax it will be fine.”
“God I hope so.”
That night dinner was normal, except for Clem being less talkative than normal. Once they finished the small talk and eating Lee asked his normal request:
“Aj, you’re on dish duty tonight.” Lee told him ask they finished dinner.
“Okay.” Aj continued eating.
“What’s gotten into you Aj, you always complain about your chores, and your room has been cleaner than normal, what’s going on?” Lee asked.
“I just want to make your life easier dad.”
“Mhm. Well go ahead and knock those dishes out.” Lee finished up his plate. Once he finished Lee headed to the living room to go over some papers and there was left Clem and Aj.
“Here you go Clem.” Aj passes her the plates.
“No Aj I’m done doing your chores, this isn’t fair I’ve already made up for what happened this is getting ridiculous!” Clem tried to keep her voice down.
“Fine. Dad!” Aj called Lee in with his arms crossed.
“Yes please call dad in, I’ll tell him myself.” Clem got up from the table.
“Not if I tell him first.” Aj cut out running but Clementine caught him and the two started fighting. Clementine tried to pin Aj but he bit her!
“Ow Aj! Don’t bite me!” They continued fighting.
“Hey Stop! Now!” Lee ran in and broke the two up. “If you two don’t stop fighting I’ll ground both of you! Now what is going on!”
The two both start telling on each other completely. Until Lee somewhat understood what was going on.
“Enough! Aj go to your room now.” Lee said sternly and very upset. Aj headed upstairs without another word. “Clementine I’m going to ask you once, what happened.” She sighs and gets ready to tell the truth.
“I’m sorry dad! The night you went out on a date my boyfriend Louis stopped over to make sure I was okay, I let him in and we watched a movie! But we weren’t doing anything, well I mean we kissed but we weren’t going to have sex! Aj caught us and I’ve been doing all his chores and pretty much everything he says since it happened and I’m sick of it!” Clementine said all in one breath. Lee took a seat as he tried to grasp everything she said.
“You have a boyfriend?”
“Yes.”
“That you let in the House? After I specifically told you no one comes in or goes out.”
“Yes.”
“And you has Aj lie for you?
“I’m sorry dad.” Clementine was defeated.
“Sweet pea, why didn’t you tell me you had a boyfriend?”
“I didn’t know how you would take it? And I didn’t know how to tell you. But you’d really like him he’s a great guy and he’s so funny, and has been dying to meet you.”
“I just always thought we had a better relationship than that, no secrets and all.”
“We do. I’m sorry dad.”
“Then you snuck him in and had your brother lie to you.”
“Yeah I know this is a mess.”
“Well when you’re not grounded anymore, I’d love to meet him.” Lee smiled at Clementine, and she couldn’t help but hug him.
“So you’re not mad?” She asked.
“Oh no I’m furious that you lied and brought your brother into it, but I know we all make mistakes and it seems like you learned from yours.”
“Thanks dad.”
“Now I’ll need your cell phone, laptop, tv, and iPad all placed in my room while I talk to your brother.”
“Wait dad you can’t be serious!”
“Now.” Lee put his hand out for her phone. She handed him her phone and immediately got a text from Louis:
Louis: Goodnight my clemster ♥️
Lee read the message and decided to let Clementine respond before she was put on punishment. Her face beamed as she replied to him trust returned her phone to her dad.
“Hey dad go easy on Aj.” Clementine started. “Or not.” She teased.
“Since your brother is a mass manipulator, I think it’s time he experiences his first grounding.” Lee headed upstairs to talk to Aj. Clementine quickly ran to the fridge to have a couple quick bites of the sorbet in the fridge before her punishment officially commenced, at least her dad wanted to meet Louis, right?
Thanks guys I hope you enjoyed!!
