So this weekend I was BLESSED to meet and hangout with the awesome AJA! (Long post ahead!)

They came to my city for a show and it was the most chill meet and greet ever. They were so hyped about the snacks I brought AND let me take this sweet Polaroid with them. We talked for a short bit, and when I told them how their openess about being non binary helped me come out, they hugged me and said "Don't let anyone change you or I'll fuck ya up!!" Which was hilarious and also super sweet. Anyone who knows anything about Aja should know they're the kindest bitch around and I left that feeling like I was walking on air.

The show was OFF THE HOOK!! Not only was the local drag fantastic (I'm friends with a couple of the queens) but aja and shilow KILLED IT

I was SO CLOSE to the stage and both of them came over to me multiple times while they were performing cause I was literally SO HYPE the whole time

So that was one of the best nights ever. Couldnt have asked for a better or more fun show.

FAST FORWARD TO THE NEXT DAY-

It was pride in my city, so I went down to the park to celebrate and it turned out aja was in the city for another day so they're doing a meet up! And I was IN THE PLACE WHERE THEY WERE!! so I was freaking out, couldnt find them anywhere til a friend of mine showed where they were. We walked over to a small group of like... 10-15 people crowded around a picnic table and there they were just chilling and talking to us! As soon as I walked up aja said "Oh hey! I remember you!" Which like absolutely filled me with so much joy!!

We were there for like over an hour just talking about everything and anything and hanging out. I got to speak to shilow again, who was super nice and had been tweeting back and forth with me all day (he thought my twitter name was really funny LMAO)

Also they were chasing pigeons and that's like, the only pics I got from the park meetup LMAO

And then before aja left they hugged me FOUR TIMES!!! FOUR!!! and complimented my pride makeup, and just in general told me to believe in myself and stuff like that. I felt so whole. (Also this is a really bad gif but we were swinging together and it was so fun)

All in all, Aja is a fantastic, down to earth, amazing human being who took the time to thank and get to know as many fans as they could. I learned so much from listening to them talk about the drag world and their art and I cant wait to see where theyll be in a couple years from now ♡♡♡
