Title: How You Get The Girl (yes the Taylor Swift song 1989 Taylor's version is on repeat rn)
Two fics, the first one being a lovers to friends to kinda strangers to friends again to lovers. Childe and Lumine (yes, it has to be Lumine, you'll understand why later) are high school lovers who broke up bc she went somewhere else for college while he stayed at home. He still loves her, though, and one day he shows up to her apartment in the pouring rain and "I want you for worse or for better, I would wait forever and ever." and song is implemented. Anyways, they slowly get back together and aww happy Chilumi fic.
Part 2 to the fic is a flashback essentially of when they first broke up and Childe, who stayed home for college, makes other friends including this one person everyone's favorite y/n. And Childe had mentioned Lumine and how much he missed her and how he wants to get back and y/n is basically like "my dude, let me help you" bc that's what good friends do. So now the song has a second meaning bc it's y/n telling Childe everything in the song and how to get Lumine back (I'm sure you can see where this is going). Before they put the plan into motion, y/n realizes they're in love with Childe but they have to put their feelings aside bc that's their best friend and he's so much happier when talking about Lumine. The end can be a flash forward to y/n seeing Chilumi happy together on a social media post or something and they comment "I'm glad you got the girl."
