30 DAY CHALLENGE. JOIN ME!
I’m baaaccckk! After having a pretty rough couple weeks mourning and such, I am back at it! And I wanted to share a change of perspective I recently got:
I eat. And I binge on netflix. And I struggle. I’ve always thought as my eating as emotional, but I was recently indirectly introduced with an old term that now has taken on some new meaning. Coping is how one deals with stressors in their life and I now see that eating has been my coping mechanism. This was a huge revelation, even though I kinda already knew it. So over the next 30 days, starting tomorrow January 19, I am going to replace my coping mechanisms with running.
I challenge all of you to join me. Whatever your unhealthy coping mechanism is, try to replace it with a healthier alternative. If it is 3 beers everyday, try going to the gym and lifting heavy things/ put them back down. If it is Netflix for 4 hours a day, maybe try cutting back to 1 hour while doing some stretching as well. A reduction is still a win! And remember that these are all relative. One persons “ healthier coping habot” could be anouthers “ unhealty coping habit. ” The important thing is that we all support one another in our goals.
