Outside of Tolstoy, do you have any christian anarchist writers you would suggest? Especially from a more Catholic lens.

Y'know I really wish I did, but I don't. I've been meaning to get into more Christian Anarchist literature myself, but this year has been so hectic I haven't had the chance 😆

Alright, time for a counterattack! Let’s start with the previous round. Who are your favourite Arknights antagonists?

Ok, so quick disclaimer I'm not as far in the main story as I probably should be and I'm woefully behind on events too because of how comparatively new my account is. First off, the ones that immediately come to mind are FrostNova and Patriot. Their story is compelling and Patriot is downright intimidating. Their theme song is so, so good too. Platinum. I love Platinum, but mostly for the wage slave memes. Give that horse a break. Or don't, it's funnier that way. Hear me out on this one, but Capone and Gambino. They're pathetic. I like them because they're pathetic. Something about them basically going "yeah, we suck, but we'll still try" in Siracusano just speaks to me. Mudrock. She does appear as an antagonist in Twilight of Wolumonde, so it counts. I just love the unwavering dedication. On the other hand, there's Ho'olheyak. Because uhhhh ummmmm I think you know why. She's a weasel and untrustworthy and I wouldn't want to associate with her, but I would like to associate with her. Also her theme song is absolutely fantastic. Honorable mentions: Quintus because his art is super cool. Those eyes. Viviana Droste doesn't really count, but I'm still listing her here because she's so pretty and a little bit gay

YOU WATCH ANIMAL KINGDOM?!!! I didn't know that!! Ok frend thouts? Ships? Favorites?

I do, yes. LOL.

I don't think I ever talked about it much on here, and if I did, I probably didn't tag.

I remember watching the pilot when it first came out and just not getting back to it for some reason, and then I tried to watch it again and it didn't stick. Eventually, I watched the series all the way through.

I was pissed when they killed off Smurf, but, this new season is great so far. Trust me. I didn't think I could enjoy it the same way without her, but it's really good.

I don't have any ships. I'm here for complex characters, complex family dynamics, action and heists.

I know everyone loves Deran and Adrian, and I don't dislike them or anything, I'm just not really drawn to any romances on this show and never have been.

My favorite characters are Pope and J. I find them both very compelling for many reasons, some of which overlap.

I always have this soft spot for Pope. He's neurodivergent, clearly he's always battled with OCD and he has Aspergers, but it's interesting that he grew up at a time when no one knew what tf that was, so he was just a "weirdo" and everyone, including his own family, treated him that way.

Shawn Hatosy is gifted, and I genuinely love watching him play this character. But it's really something that the only person who probably ever understood and looked out for Pope was Julia, but she got disowned and then died. That's some heavy shit.

I always feel like in some ways Pope liked having J there as this piece of Julia and in other ways J reminds him of how he failed her.

Smurf really fkd Pope and Julia up though, and you see how that tracks throughout the series. And how Pope was, like, Smurf's winter soldier... a guard dog and not a son, easily manipulated. And he never really stood a chance. It fascinates me and I wonder who Pope could've been if not for Smurf.

And J. I love this kid. He has a hustlers spirit. He could literally do anything, but he's devoted to this... any form of get rich quick, but when you consider that unlike most of the other Codys, he grew up in poverty, and he had to be the adult, his ascent to the top and why he goes so hard makes sense.

In some ways J reminds me of my kid brother which is probably another reason I have a soft spot for him. Ironically, said brother does not like J and loved Smurf! Lol! And Finn Cole is great in this role.

He's brillant, though. And he's a great read on people. And I loved watching his relationship with Smurf because they were so much alike. And J is so good that you couldn't always tell if he did respect and care about his grandmother at times or was it just him playing her all along.

His and Smurf's relationship was like two chess masters at play, and I loved it. None of the others could match Smurf like J, not even Baz.

I love how slick, J is. So he's my favorite too.

I would say my one issue with the show is that outside of Smurf, none of the women ever really caught my attention. They were annoying or one dimensional or plot devices or nuisances.

Smurf was pretty much it as far as being badass and interesting. BUT Pamela may be the first to make up for the lack of compelling female characters on this show for me.

The scene where Deran asks Adrian if he and Dave are going to "fag it up at the Pottery Barn..." always makes me laugh. So much subtext here. Um, Deran, how do you know about "buying matching dishes and shit"? We're supposed to think of Deran on Grindr, but there's so much more going on with him.. Makes me wonder what other subtext there is that I've missed. I love this. It's a little like all the cooking. He hates Smurf, but he learned to love to cook from her.

The best part about that bit is that it's not even the gay part he's calling out, but the committing one , the being in a relationship without hiding, the going out in public and doing things together, the normalcy and domesticity, the creating a home. If you remember, at the time the boys had a place of their own and the state Deran's was in was in a huge contrast to the tidy, cozy, family home Smurf offered them, that they incidentally went back to more often than not. So later he creates that for Adrian, yes, but for himself too. It's a way of making Adrian stay, but it's also the home™️ he's known from, well, home, and he loves that too. Fag it up, oh Deran, how the turns have tabled.

where would you say is a good place to start off reading the bible? im kind of overwhelmed by just how much there is and im not sure if i should just start off from the beginning or not

Hey there lil brother/sister in Christ! Welcome to the spiritual family, I'm so excited to have you!

The cornerstone of our faith is Jesus Christ... because without His life, burial, resurrection and promise to return again... we have nothing. That being said, the Gospels are the best place to start. If you don't know, the Gospels are New Testament books called Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. They tell the story of Jesus' life through the eyes of different disciples who followed him and tried to put his teachings into practice. I would say the book of John is where you should start; learn about how Jesus lived his life as our example in the flesh and learn about how much He loves you.

The Bible tells us to pray for the wisdom to understand, so it may be helpful to do this before beginning your studies!

"If any man lacks wisdom, let him ask it of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

James Chapter One, Verse Five
