Notes on Akere Arsenal M4 H.E.M "Verfolger"

The Akere Arsenal M4 H.E.M is a solid offering from the company. Fitting neatly within the mid range mil-spec H.E.M market.

The Verfolger contains the usual features expected of military grade H.E.Ms with , anti-glare and anti-blind coating on durable non fog lenses. Along with a flexible tough body and good quality air filters.

The filter tubes are short allowing for ease of use when shouldering small arms. In addition Akere has increased the size of the filter slots on the H.E.M allowing for better airflow at the expense of filter durability.

Where the Verfolger really stands out however is that the lenses have additional features beyond most H.E.Ms.

The quad lensed appearance seems strange at first as you expect to see four vision lenses when you don the mask. However, on the interior the four lenses are condensed into one viewfield using the latest in H.U.D technology. The four lenses are actually miniaturized specialty sights. Able to be customized for a wide spectrum including ultraviolet, starlight and infrared.

There are two powerful LEDs mounted centrally just above the eyes when the wearer needs light in darkened areas. In addition two specialized torches are mounted above the brow able to shine a variety of light wavelengths. These torches can be customized for the individuals situation, for example mounting infrared torches for use in temperature stable areas.

For purchasers on a budget, looking for a H.E.M with just that extra something, the Verfolger is definitely one to keep an eye or four out for.

Notes on Doril Basin Variant M12 H.E.M

The Doril Basin variant is a local adaptation of the commonly seen Akere Directed Mark 12 Hostile Enviro Mask (H.E.M). The community that produced this variant used local fabrication machines to either alter standard Mark 12 H.E.Ms or construct one from scratch.

Although both look similar the Doril Basin variant has slightly more prominent projections on either side of the masks. These projections were normally decorated with intricate markings indicating a person's rank and position within each clan group.

The filtration systems were similarly altered to allow for greater intake of breathing with slits cut into for greater surface area ventilation. The M12 H.E.M tended to rely on a single entry port for air causing unfamiliar users to feel short on air when first putting on the mask. The Doril Basin sacrifices filter time in harsher environments for a more comfortable wearing experience. The variant was designed for conditions native to the region and was not intended for planetwide or interplanetary use.

It is speculated the Doril Basin inhabitants were wiped out by planetary bombardment during the Amate Invasion. Liberum Sectors warships were directed to cripple all industrial production on the planet in an effort to blunt the anticipated counter thrust by Isere Commanility forces.

Details of the war can be found in other documentation, suffice to say, the Doril Basin Variant was wiped out from production. Surviving examples being passed down amongst the few survivors of the Doril Basin clans where they are honored as heirlooms.
