How they react when you die in their arms -preference

➥ Maekar Targaryen-

When you finally look up at him through fading eyes, you use the last of your strength to gently smooth the deep, permanent scowl lines between his brows, breathlessly asking him to smile for you just once before you go so he lets out a sob, trying to force a smile through his absolute terror while begging you to hold on. And when your hand finally goes limp in his grasp ,prince completely collapses under the weight of his agony, letting out a terrifying ,devastating scream that echoes through the courtyard as he pulls your lifeless body into his arms, demanding you wake up because he cannot survive this world without his only light.

➥ Valarr Targaryen -

You lay in his arms looking up into his tear-streaked face ,giving him weak,adoring smile as you whisper that loving him was the greatest adventure of your life, he shakes his head in disbelief, pressing his hands desperately against your wound, promising you the world, if you just stayed awake. When you quietly slip away he drops his head to your chest, sobbing loudly ,refusing to let the maesters pull him away from your body while he screams your name.

When you take your last stuttering breath against his ruined armor, you reach up with shaking ,bloody hand to touch his cheek ,whispering softly that he must not let this harden his heart ,because realm needs good men. He desperately presses his hand over yours, sobbing back promise that he will try. When your eyes finally flutter shut he pulls your lifeless body close against his chest, burying his face in your face and weeps uncontrollably while whispering broken prayers,asking gods to take him instead.

➥ Duncan The Tall-

When you look up at the giant knight weeping above you, you wipe tear from his cheek, whispering that he is the truest, bravest knight you have ever known and that you are so proud of him. When you fade away after giving him last soft smile ,the massive, gentle giant turns into a weeping, broken boy, he gently cradles your body against his chest, absolutely crushed by the guilt as he kisses your forehead and cries silently into your hair.

➥ Daeron Targaryen -

When you finally feel the light pulling you away, you cup his terrified face, whispering that his nightmares aren't real and that you will be waiting for him in the quiet, safe place. He completely breaks down. hysterically begging you not to leave him alone with the dragons in his head. When your final breath leaves your lungs, he’d pulls you into his lap, curling his entire body around yours, choking on his own tears as he sobs pathetically into your neck, entirely destroyed by the loss of his only safety.

➥ Aerion Targaryen -

When you lay there in his arms realizing that there was no saving you, you look up at his panicked face with a calm pity, whispering his name softly and telling him to try and find some peace in this world without you. He grips your face tightly his eyes manic , ordering you to keep breathing,keep living for him . When the light finally leaves your eyes,He completely loses his mind in grief, starts screaming and threatening the gods. Attacks anyone who dares try to take your body from his blood-soaked arms.

➥ Rhaenyra Targaryen -

When you taste the blood on your lips, you look up into your Queen's horrified eyes, your fingers tangling weakly into her silver hair as you whisper to her to burn them all and protect her claim. she clutches your hand to her chest, whispering in High Valyrian that she will. When you finally close your eyes and slip away, she pulls you close letting out agonizing scream,entirely ready to burn the world to ash to avenge you.

➥ Alicent Hightower -

When you feel your heartbeat slowing, you look up at her teary eyes, whispering softly that you don't regret a single moment of your hidden, beautiful love. She traces your face and begs the gods for a miracle she knew wouldn't come. When your body goes still, she breaks down entirely, pulling your cold body close ,rocking you back and forth and crying hysterically until her voice is completely gone.

➥ Jacaerys Velaryon -

When you realise that it’s too late and there is nothing saving you , You reach up to touch his jaw, your voice cracking as you whisper how sorry you are that you won’t get to see the beautiful future you both had planned. When your hand finally falls away limp from his face, he pulls you tight against his chest, burying his face in the your neck as he cries helplessly, destroyed by the realization that he has to face the rest of his life completely alone.

Baelor

Being the heir to the iron throne is a huge responsibility, one that often takes Baelor away from you for long stretches. He will be gone for weeks or even months at a time, travelling to work in all corners of the realm, and when he is home he is locked away in his study for hours on end. It wears on him just as much as it wears on you, and while being his wife is both a pleasure and an honour, it is a lonely task.

Baelor is a gentle and kind man where you are concerned. He sends ravens when he is away, little love notes and tales of his trips, and when he returns he brings you gifts and treats. Even so, in the late hours you can sometimes be found crying into your pillow, missing your husband.

Handmaidens will find you in the morning with splotchy skin and puffy eyes and you will swear them to silence, not wanting to burden your husband with things you deem unfitting uses of his time; it's not his fault he was born the heir, and he doesn't need more to deal with.

When he eventually finds out about how you sob in his absence, it tugs greatly at his heart. He cannot dismiss his duties, but even so, he finds pockets of time to tend to you: taking your breakfasts together, walks through the gardens, a bath together at the end of a long day. He even decides to start bringing you along on some of his trips, where before he would have deemed it too unsafe to have you about. Instead he doubles the guard, because your happiness is paramount to him.

Maekar

Maekar is a very practical and reserved man. He keeps his emotions to himself, often burying them under mountains of busywork. His children take a lot out of him, and so he finds his rest in the quiet and calm. Unfortunately for you, this means he is not an affectionate husband, and being married to someone so cold can take its toll.

When he finds you crying by yourself in the gardens, he immediately becomes irritated. Another thing on his plate, another outburst that requires his attention. But when he looks into your glassy red eyes, something softens within him. He will ask you what is the matter, and when you explain to him that you feel lonely and like a burden to him, he is taken aback.

“What? Of course I like you. How ridiculous.” He would say, wiping your tears away.

Loving you is a matter of fact for him, something that just is. He's never been a soft person, and doesn't truly understand the concept of gentle affections. Why does he need to repeat it, has he not told you before? Even so, when discussing the matter with his brother, Baelor encourages him to make gestures.

You soon find yourself receiving little gifts. Nothing extravagant, but little tokens of his affections. A book he thought you'd enjoy, a bouquet of the flowers that have most recently bloomed, a bottle of spiced wine. Each would come with a small card that would say nothing more than “For my wife - Maekar” and it would mean the world that he thought of you anyway.

Aerion

He did think you quite beautiful and would attempt, in his twisted way, to show you this by harming anyone who looked at you with eyes he thought only he deserved. As you would come to find out when you made the mistake of revealing an insecurity to him, this included you. He spent the next half hour berating you for speaking ill of yourself, because how could you be so stupid to think I'd have married someone ugly?

Aerion and his attitude were often the reason for your tears. You'd heard stories of his antics before you were betrothed to him, and yet they didn't seem to live up to the reality of a life with him. His moods would swing erratically, from jovial to enraged at the mere perception of a tone that struck him wrong.

If you began to cry in front of him, it would only get worse, as he was one to give you something to cry over. In time you became hardened, never showing him a negative emotion, and releasing them all later when he wasn't nearby to belittle you for it.

Daeron

Marriage had never been something Daeron had aspired to, as he believed he could never be a fit husband to anyone. He delayed his nuptials as long as he possibly could, having seen the upset of a future wife in his dreams.

His father and uncle saw fit to marry him to someone as patient as they reasonably could, and hoped your match would lead him to a better path. Daeron found you enchanting, and loathed himself for the way he could never tear himself away from the only salve that soothed his mind. If anything, marriage became a new kind of torture, because his dreams would haunt him with images of his distraught wife, sobbing over the way he would pass out drunkenly almost every day.

He would speak with you as much as he could before the drink would take him, telling you he knows you suffer because of him but that you shouldn't worry, that he has seen the way you cry for him, and that there are other things much more worthy of your tears. He would promise to stop, to put down his cups and cease the drink, but his dreams would come again and the cycle would start anew.

Valarr

Much like his father, Valarr was a gentle and kind husband. Though he too was busy with the affairs of the court and travels, accompanying Baelor on trips across the realm, he had more time to devote to his wife and marriage.

Your tears would come later, at the birth of his heirs, when the babes were stillborn. You felt it was your own failing, that the blood of the dragon wouldn't be responsible for such tragedies, but Valarr would hear none of it. He would be sharp and strict in dealing with anyone who suggested it was your fault, and made all the comforts he could available to you at all times. He was just as grief-stricken as you, mourning the loss of his sons, but chose to remain by your side and mourn with you instead of locking himself away and hiding in his work.

After two stillborn babes, your third pregnancy was a stressful and frightening time for both you and your husband. Valarr would pace up and down the halls, terrified of the effects another tragedy would have on you, and equally terrified of the prospect of having no heir.

When your child was born healthy, there would be many more tears, though this time they would be tears of joy and relief.

Lyonel

The Laughing Storm’s household was often filled with joy. From raucous celebrations for any possible reason, to private moments between him and his wife, there was little to bemoan. It was rare that you shed tears during your marriage, and rarer still that the tears weren't born of belly laughter or overwhelming pleasure.

When you did cry, it was usually because of the hormone overload of your moon cycle. Lyonel was quick to remedy you, ordering servants to procure anything you wished. He would wipe tears from your eyes and hold you close, murmuring sweetnesses in your ear and cursing anything that would bring you discomfort. Because of his generous and doting nature, no sadness remained long.

Duncan

Despite the lack of luxuries that came along with the hedge knight's lifestyle, Dunk made it his personal duty to ensure you never wanted for anything. There was no lack of love or consideration from him.

It would be the sight of him after a battle, bloodied and swollen and panting, that would have you in tears. You'd tend to his wounds with softness and grace, wiping the dirt from his face and wrapping him in bandages, trying with all your might not to let him see your watery eyes or hear your sniffles.

Of course, he would notice, and comfort you as best he could despite the great pain and difficulty he had in moving. Seeing him in that state would only upset you further, and it would end only after you'd finished tending to him and tucked yourself into his side, making sure not to further hurt him. He would ignore any soreness from bruises that you might be pressing on, deciding it more important to comfort you as you comforted him.

How they react when they meet their newborn for the first time (you just gave birth)

➥ Lyonel Baratheon -

After he hears you just gave birth the doors to the chamber fly open and he rushes in ignoring the midwives and the crying bundle in one the nurse's arms. He drops to his knees right beside your bed, his hands shaking as he gently cups your pale, sweaty face. His chest heaving as his eyes scan your face “My love... speak to me, tell me you are alright” he begs, his voice a hoarse. When you manage a weak smile and cover his hand with yours the color finally returns to his face. He lets out a relieved sigh, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead before finally turns his head to look at the child you fought so hard to give him. The midwife carefully places the tiny, swaddled newborn into his arms. And for once Lyonel is silent , he holds baby gently ,tracing his finger over her soft cheek in awe “my little storm, my daughter “ he whispers as he looks from the baby to you ,his eyes shining with pride.

➥ Valarr Targaryen -

The second he is allowed in the room ,he rushes to your side and collapses against the mattress. He buries his face in your neck, his shoulders shaking as he sobs in relief”I was so scared” he cries into your skin, his hands tracing your arms and your waist to assure himself that you are still here"I couldn't lose you, I couldn't." He is so overwhelmed with the fear of losing you that you actually have to cup his face , shush him and turn his head toward the midwife so he will finally look at the beautiful baby he helped create. Valarr reaches out with shaking hands, tears immediately welling up in his eyes as he takes his daughter. He brings her to his chest, burying his nose in the soft blanket, overwhelmed by the reality that he is a father now “Look at her" he chokes out,bright smile breaking across his face as he sits on the edge of your bed. He eagerly points out every tiny detail to you ,her little fingers, the shape of her nose,how she has your beautiful eyes. He has never been happier in his entire life.

➥ Daeron Targaryen -

When he finally gets to come into the chamber, he looks scared, his hands shaking. He ignores the baby at first rushing to you sitting down beside you pulling your hand to his chest , you can feel his racing heartbeat against your palm “You're still here, you are alright” he whispers, his voice cracking as tears slide down on his cheeks "You promised you wouldn't leave me, and you're still here." He kisses your forehead, your cheeks, your lips, not leaving your side until you softly tell him that his daughter is perfectly healthy and he turns to look at his child, hesitating when midwife steps forward taking the baby from her carefully. He looks down at her sleeping face softly , “I will be better for her," he whispers promises, tears silently falling onto the baby's blanket “I promise you, my love, I will be a better man for you and for our girl”

➥ Baelor Targaryen -

After he hears that you just have a birth he strides into the room and goes straight for you, sitting on the edge of the mattress and carefully pulling your exhausted body against his chest. He buries his face in your damp hair, pressing desperate kisses to your temple and neck, repeatedly thanking the Gods that you are alive. The midwife tries to present his newborn to him but Baelor holds up a hand to stop her. "A moment” he commands softly, his eyes not leaving your tired face. He waits until you are smiling up at him reassuringly before he finally reaches out to take his daughter, settling her warmly against his chest. He looks down at the tiny face, his eyes softening with an unconditional love. He gently brushes his thumb over the baby's fine wisp of silver hair, murmuring soft compliments.He leans down, bringing the baby close to you so you can both look at your creation together. "She is perfect, my love”he whispers, pressing a kiss to your temple. "Beautiful and strong, just like her mother."

➥ Maekar Targaryen -

Maekar hates feeling helpless, and being locked out while you screamed in agony had him on edge of a mental breakdown. After you finally give birth he storms into the room ignoring the crying infant in nurses arms and he leans over you, his eyes wide and terrified as he grips your shoulders, barking at the maester, "Is she out of danger? Tell me she is out of danger or i will have your head!" He doesn't relax until you weakly reach up and touch his jaw. He melts into your palm, closing his eyes and letting out a relieved breath. He stays with you tracing his thumb over your cheek, until you quietly tell him to go look at his daughter. He gets up turning towards nurse and stiffly takes the baby in his arms ,terrified his hands might be too rough for something so delicate. But the moment the baby shifts against his chest and lets out a soft coo, he melts right there ,his shoulders dropping as he pulls the bundle closer His presses a tender kiss her head, silently swearing to the Gods that he will burn the world before letting anything harm his girls .

➥ Duncan The Tall -

Dunk was a nervous mess outside the chamber pacing back and forth for hours,When he is finally allowed inside he looks paler than you do. He walks by the maid holding his child rushing to get to your side. He drops to his knees, taking your smaller hand in his ,tears are already spilling down his cheeks “Are you safe ? The midwife says you're safe, but I need to hear it from you” he stammers, pressing your knuckles to his lips as he cries in relief. You have to literally point toward the little bundle and gently coax him to stop crying over you and go meet his daughter. When gets up and turns to the nurse holding her ,he quickly wipes his sweaty palms on his tunic before awkwardly, nervously extending his arms. When the baby is finally settled against his chest, Dunk stands frozen. He barely dares to breathe"she’s so small” he whispers his eyes wide in adoration as he stares down at the sleeping face. “She looks just like you” he murmurs softly looking over at you , and just the way he’s gently cradling his daughter shows he's already the most devoted father in the Seven Kingdoms.

Skin Picking • AKOTSK x Reader

How would the akotsk men feel about and deal with a partner that picked at them a lot?

Warnings: skin picking, pimples, blood, blackheads, this is written by me for me, obsessive behaviours, not proofread

A/N: wrote this after spending time picking at my boyfriend's skin (I am a chronic and low-key obsessive skin picker) and I couldn't resist because this is so beyond stupid. Requests are still open so please feel free to send them, especially if they're ridiculous little ones like this lol.

Baelor

Baelor is a very patient man who will let you pick at him as much as you need to. Being an older man, there's not often too much for you to pick at beyond the occasional blackhead or stray hair that looks at you the wrong way.

He does prefer not to be picked at publicly, so if you spot something you file it away for later when you have a moment alone. This works well for the most part, though if something is glaring at you and you can't let it go, he can tell because you are staring at it constantly. In this case, he will find an excuse to slip away for a moment to let you fix it, as long as it isn't something that will leave a big mark on his face or bleed.

Late at night when you're alone together in your chambers, he will sit with his head in your lap while you comb thoroughly over ever millimetre of his face, chest, and shoulders and pick at anything that calls to you. He doesn't complain about anything being painful, he's used to far worse physical pain than your nails, and he finds it amusing how you behave while you do it; you tend to hum to yourself and mumble happily about the "good ones," or get irritated with stubborn spots and hairs.

Maekar

Maekar is absolutely not interested in being picked at at all. He doesn't like being touched at the best of times, and your sharp nails squeezing into his skin like little knives is enough to drive him to drink. If you go at him without warning, he will swat your hands away and chastise you sharply for behaving so childishly.

Occasionally, though, he will develop a sore and tender spot in a place he cannot reach on his own, and he will enlist your help in relieving the pressure. He will grimace and suck his teeth as you work, muttering about how he should have had a maester do it, while secretly feeling comforted that you're foaming at the mouth willing to help him with something he considers gross and embarassing.

Aerion

Aerion definitely has issues with the skin on his back and chest from wearing that damned maille armour on his bare flesh. He won't admit it outright, but it bothers him and he picks at it himself when he gets the chance.

At first, he is horrified at the prospect of you seeing it, cursing at you for even looking at his skin that way, but when he realizes you aren't being judgemental, he will soften up to the idea of letting you get at the ones he can't reach.

Privately, if he is in a very good and relaxed mood, he will let you pop the whiteheads and blackheads on his face. Aerion will whine and complain about the pain but sit still nonetheless, and he will insist that you apply a salve after to minimize the appearance of blemishes and redness, because the dragon must always look his best. Because he too is a skin picker (though he would never ever admit it), he will pick at your own skin if you allow him to do so.

You're definitely sworn to secrecy about the whole business, and he fears it would ruin his reputation if anyone found out. However, when enough trust between you is built up, it is a strange little bonding activity for you both that he finds very satisfying.

Daeron

Daeron doesn't care if you pick at him. He is a masochist at heart anyway, and always feels he deserves pain, but he knows that you pick at him to bring yourself comfort and not to hurt him. It is a nifty little arrangement.

He will gladly sit and allow you to inspect him all over for anything you deem needs removal. He doesn't complain or whine about the pain, but you do catch him wincing occasionally if you dig in too hard.

You never admit it outright, but when he is passed out drunk and it has worn on your nerves, you will pluck at the patch of hairs on his shoulders and really squeeze at the stubborn blackheads in sensitive areas. It's like your own little revenge. Of course he does know about it, having dreamt of it beforehand, but he doesn't ever tell you about it, allowing you to have your own private little time to get back at him for his shortcomings.

Valarr

Like his father, Valarr is accommodating to your obsession with picking at him. That being said, he lacks the lifetime of experience that would allow him to truly be patient and sit still. When you pick at his skin, he will flinch and complain and whine, but when you sigh and tell him you'll stop, he will insist that you can continue and he is fine.

Being young, he definitely has some acne issues, most notably on his chest, back, and shoulders. It's like a little goldmine, your own personal treasure trove of nastiness to clean out from his skin. However, he is sensitive and the skin is often tender, so it sometimes takes some coaxing to get him to allow you to pop the deeper and more sensitive spots.

Eventually, you figure out a little bartering system where he receives a kiss for each spot popped. You make a great show of counting each one (he is also counting because by the seven, it hurts), and then counting out the kisses afterward. He likes to argue, tell you that you forgot some (you didn't) just to get a few more kisses, though he really doesn't need to and you'd just kiss him anyway.

Duncan

This man lives in clothes he doesn't wash often enough, and he bathes in rivers. He has so many blackheads it is comical. He actually quite enjoys that you remove them for him, it makes him feel cleaner and more confident when he doesn't feel like his every pore is full of dirt.

It's like a little ritual for you both: he will go off to bathe and wash his clothes, and the water will soften his skin. Once he gets out of whatever stream he was washing in, he will sit quietly as you ease each blackhead out. He doesn't once complain about the nails or the pinching because to him, you're doing a favour.

He will also catch you making intense eye contact with his spots when you're in public or simply at camp, and he will immediately close his eyes and lean down so you can fix it and satisfy whatever is bothering you. This is of course balanced by the fact that you won't do this to him when he is busy and trying to appear knightly, or if you're in the presence of highborns (that aren't Lyonel or Egg).

Lyonel

Naturally, Lyonel finds it quite hysterical to see you zero in on something amiss with his skin, and finds your determination to resolve it to be endearing. For the most part, he is very tolerant of your need to pick at him, and he will indulge you as often as he can.

He doesn't complain about it, though he will occasionally groan if you're really digging for it, but it is quickly replaced by his bellowing laugh. He will make jokes about how he is a valiant knight and yet he finds himself taken out by a stupid little blemish, and then you will tell him to stop talking and moving so you can focus, which only makes him laugh harder. He is truly a good man, and he loves all your little quirks, even if they hurt a little.
