There Is

There lies the forlorn There lies the forgotten There lies the forbidden There they lie for rotten

There lies the beaten and the slain There lies the sleet and the rain There lies the ill-gotten gain There lies all the shame All for the same Game

And in that same game There is a misery in this darkness This shadow of deathly sorrow That comes from the passing of a loved one There is a hole in this nest This catcher of what holds tomorrow That stems from feeling that life is done There is a numbness in this feeling This sensation that never fully dissipates That pours out of a poorly mended heart There is a hopefulness in this meaning This understanding of what aggravates That leads us away from heaven to depart There is This and That That and This All of This and All of That All of That and All of This And for WHAT is it?

It is in this same game that There is a reason for this bleeding This stinging of the saltiness to the wounds The same salt that nourishes the dirt of this earth The same dirt from whence we came Do not rinse or rid yourself of this salt Nor forget that we were and still are dirt Remember for WHAT All of This And All of That Are worth There is a healing There is a revelation There is a meeting A heavenly sensation For all who are mourning For all who are lost For all who are searching For the hidden cost Of eternal salvation Eternal happiness Eternal elation Eternal joyfulness
