feeling sad about extinction again so here's a piece from I made ages ago based on the Mountain Goats song Deuteronomy 2:10
#to the surprise of no one#i am sad about all the animals that would still be around if it werent for humans again#and about all the ones we're going to lose#and the fact that we might lose so many species before we even know they exist and therefore never will know that they were here despite#sharing the same planet at the same time#it makes me so sad i cant even describe it#tasmanian tiger#thylacine#dodo#dodo bird#golden toad#alajuela toad#idk which one makes me the most sad#died in captivity from neglect / exposure despite being the last of her kind#couldnt defend themselves because they'd never encountered predators before#or only seen for 23 years before being declared extinct only 39 years after we discovered them#likely from a fungal infection the researchers tying to help them could have unknowingly spread to them#ugh#i am in my feelings#the mountain goats#deuteronomy 2:10#extinction#extinct animals#extinct species#my art <3#cal draws#paleoart
