Re. what might be behind the doors of stone - I'm fond of the idea that Iax's name is locked behind the doors of stone in the same way as Kvothe's is locked in his chest. That would explain how Kvothe learned to separate himself from his name. If Iax and Haliax are actually the same person, just that Haliax is what was left after his name was removed, it provides a nice symmetry between him and Kvothe, and also means that opening the doors of stone won't add a secondary villain.
