How long has it been? Oh that’s right, it’s been nearly 4 years and sometimes it’s like it was just yesterday they were talking about Kaneki on Kami’s campus and now they meet once again in a new city, a new environment, a new lifestyle. Hide reflects on it and needless to day their bond is the strongest when they talk about the man the care deeply about, that man being Kaneki, or should he say Haise Sasaki. 

They agree to meet over a cup of coffee as there’s so much catching up to do because after all, the last time they talked was in 4 years, right before everything went to hell. He’ll love nothing more than to see how Touka’s been doing and hope she remembers him. Furthermore, there’s a slew of questions coming his way but the feeling is mutual as Hide got his own. The door opens and there’s a shadow coming his way, which is cue for him to turn around. 

“Touka, you’re here. Come sit down and have some coffee with me.”

Takizawa sat at his table loudly smacking his lips, and sucking on his two fingers. He had had table manners once he was sure, but he couldn’t quite remember them anymore. Along with other things like how to drive, or to tie his shoes, the small details of being human seemed to slip through him like sand through a sieve as each day passed. 

Of course what should he expect when he was trying to pass for human at a cafe. It seemed opposite to his goal right now of deciding to just live on as a ghoul rather than clinging to the past. The same way while trying to be incognito, his insistence on making several noises and causing a general fuss produced the opposite result.

Until he finally noticed the waitress, or was she the manager perhaps staring at him? He could tell instantly from the smell though, she was a ghoul just like him. Then this was the place he heard about, the rumored cafe run by ghouls.

“Oi! What’s with the glares, I got money you know. Just because I look like a hobo doesn’t mean I’m not gonna pay. I guess I don’t fit the dress code for this swank joint, but this hoodie is all I’ve got and it’s real comfortable too. Annn anyway- Can I get a coffee black with sugar on the side?”

Urie not been able to find anything to satisfy him all day. He threw sugary energy drinks away in the trash, crushing the cans they came in first. Even the protein smoothies he usually drank as a part of his excercise routine, he had spat out. 

He was thirsty, but Urie did not want to seem desperate either. He would just try water later, if this current avenue did not work out for him. Urie had stopped at a cafe. Unlike the other Quinx, he had never visited such a place, so the title held no familiarity to him at all. 

“One black coffee,” He ordered promptly without even looking up at the waitress as he held a finger up. He sat in his chair then, attempting to look composed when in reality it felt like he was sitting on pins and needles rather than the ornate chairs that tended to occupy these stylistic cafes. Finally, a cup was laid in front of him. Urie picked it up cautiously, and pressed it to his lips. 

“Ah.. this coffee....(It’s good.)” He found his lips curling into a smile, in spite of the cold demeanor. That’s right the waittress, he had been ignoring her this entire time. He should say something. He looked up. 

“Coffee, good, you?”

she... isn’t she the nice waitress... from that coffee shop? he can remember her very well. he remembers how cute and nice she was, and how haise cried when he once took a sip from that coffee. so she’s here, too, huh? quite a surprise. does haise know that she’s here?

“ah... i know you! i guess... you were owning that coffee shop, right?”, he asks with a smile. what a nonchalant way to approach someone, shirazu.
