Headcanon

Taka almost never gets drunk. He'll have a few beers with Mondo after he gets home from the bar with his motorcycle buddies, but that's all.

For the Most Part, that is.

On special occasions, he lets loose, and decides Tonight Is The NIGHT.

He will let everyone know beforehand that Tonight Is The Night. He tells Mondo first, so that he doesn't start pregaming, then he'll call Makoto, Leon, and Chihiro and ask them to pick up his favorite bottle of wine.

Once everyone comes over - to Mondo and Taka's house, of course, so Taka doesn't risk any drunk driving - Taka has Chihiro pour him a glass of wine and they have a meeting where they discuss the activities they want to do, so that he can know what's coming

They talk until he finishes his first glass of wine, then begin their night. And from that moment forward, Taka stops counting his drinks, and instead treats taking a drink as a thing to do during a pause in conversation before the topic resets.

He doesn't get drunk fast. He'll down an entire 1.5 liter of wine before feeling anything, then move on to beers - whatever craft beer he is into, he finds the brewing process fascinating; after all, how do you get that many flavors just with grains?

After his 3rd beer, the bois know that they are not leaving the house that night. If they were planning on going out, they sit Taka down and have a talk about changing plans. He's usually compliant because even while drunk he is nothing if not logical. Sometimes he gets worried about running out of beers, but Mondo just gets one of his buddies to run to the liquor store for them. Taka always enjoys this, because he loves talking with Mondo's "brothers in steel", as he calls him. Although talking usually steers into an hour long lecture about treasuring Mondo and the Value of His Leadership. Mondo is usually too flattered to cut in and let Taka know he's been ranting for far too long, so Leon distracts him by asking about the new beer he picked up, to which he happily submits to conversation about, while Mondo wishes his friend a good night and finally releases him from his leader-in-laws clutches

A six pack later, Taka is almost impossible to shut up. It's a constant train of thought, and the gang knows it's about to start when he says "let's get down to brass tacks!" Usually he starts with politics, as that's what he's been wanting to talk about this entire night by this point, and everyone indulges him and engages with wherever his mind takes him.

He eventually tires himself out around 3 beers later, but by that time he's got to much momentum to stop his train of thought, so he's just talking in circles. Chihiro always notices first, and somehow they and Makoto steer the conversation to video games, and suggest they all play a game of super smash bros.

They all play video games and chat and drink until around 1 am, when Taka starts to fall asleep on Mondo's shoulder.

Mondo gently asks him if he wants to go to bed. Taka nods his head, and Mondo carries him into their room, then comes back out to chill with the homies.

Taka sleeps peacefully for 12 hours, and usually wakes up to Mondo passed out on the couch and a note saying goodbye from Chihiro and Leon

And the thing that blows all of their minds is that he is NEVER hungover. They have never once seen him disheveled and grumpy after a night of drinking. He claims he has been hungover once on the first night of his and Mondo's honeymoon, but even then Mondo attests that he was still in the best of spirits, although extremely nauseous.

Taka is the heaviest weight of all of them and he barely drinks.
