his stomach knotted with a sense of unease as he watched the slow descent of the ship. it had been many years since his father had led the people to victory against the rda, the privatised military that had attempted to plunder and ravage their home for resources that didn't belong to them. his father had wished to greet the man, bail organa, himself yet trouble among the clans had forced him to remain behind. there were many resistant to allowing aliens from returning, but his father insisted that negotiating a peace or a treaty with what he called the republic would protect them from any further destruction.
his parents hoped that the journey through the woods and to the council gathering would allow his father time to soothe the other clans into calm. it was neteyam's task to pass off concerns, to show the republic that they were guests, honoured, if only for the duration of their current stay.
neteyam stepped forward as the ship opened it's maw, exposing a human man. he swallowed his nerves and closed the distance between them, meeting the stranger upon the grass. he raised a hand, pressing his fingertips to his forehead and bringing his hand down in greeting, ❝ i see you, viceroy bail organa, ❞ neteyam said, the title and name somewhat clumsy on his tongue. ❝ i am neteyam, son of toruk makto, jake sully, i will be escorting you to the meeting house, ❞ // @alderaconsort ♡'d for a starter .
