I finished watching Hamilton today and was reading the Book of Mormon just now and thought, “Hey! What if we had Hamilton but with Joseph Smith instead?” and then I remembered I had seen this video shared on Reddit earlier this year. Alex Boye has set out to create a rap/hip-hop musical featuring the life story of Joseph Smith. Is it a blatant rip-off of Hamilton? Yes, but I think it would be an interesting take on the founder of the largest US-based faith who had a fascinating life.
