Alexander: the raid series so straight, it made all the ones after it gay

Some of my static mates took me to finish off Alexander tonight. I recommend doing older raids with people who love the story, doubly so if they cannot be normal about it. Alexander is such a great story, flipping everything we knew about primals to that point on its head. The music goes so hard, and it is just overall solid.

In Kit's story, Elidibus, for his own reasons*, takes time to teach Kit basic aetherology, and about the nature of primals, often becoming frustrated with her lack of foundation on the topic.

Y'shtola could not help a smile. "And where did you come to such understandings of aetherology?" Kit met her eyes, her own expression softening sadly. "Elidibus. It feels a lifetime ago, when I defeated Alexander." She turned her eyes to the ground. "He taught me to listen to the star. That it would tell me its troubles if only I knew to listen." Y'shtola's lips parted in surprise, Urianger's as well. As Kit looked among her friends, she realized that not a single one of them expected her to have grasped the problem at all, let alone hold a commanding understanding of its cause or effects. Or, perhaps it was something else entirely. "Are you surprised he would do so? He was the Heart of Zodiark. A primal. And brilliant besides. Many times he made himself known to me. Challenged me. Questioned me. Taught me things and demanded I understand them." Dropping her voice for only the two of them, Y'shtola asked, "Tell me, my friend, when was the last time Hydaelyn spoke to you?" Kit lowered her face toward the ground. "Directly, I mean." Kit shook her head, not wishing to answer. Y'shtola was having none of it. "Is your reticence because you cannot remember? Or because you are unsettled by the answer?" She held her quiet contemplation some time, yet no one moved "It has been awhile," she admitted. "Before the First. Before… so much. Truthfully, I cannot recall." Kit swallowed. "It is possible I have—" "Lost your Blessing of Light?" Y'shtola finished. Despite how her friend tried, the others were easily within earshot, each of them wearing their own version of shock. Each of them waiting for an answer. "I did not lose it," she said. Softly. Carefully. "I know what happened to it, and I know when." You can be enough, Kit. You’re mine. I am.

 I think I cracked the mystery of Trevanchet, the Ascian we met back in 1.0.

Trevanchet, one of this most unknown NPC villains, that we havent seen since Heavensward, who helped set in motion the Alexander Raids. What were his motivations for Mide to create a nigh unkillable primal?

In hindsight, it doesn't make sense for the grand scheme of the ascian plan, to ressurrect Zodiark, to make a primal that could theoretically rival the same God they want to bring back. A time travelling machine that could reverse every event seems like a fools errand. Why wouldn't the Ascians want to use the primal themselves to travel back in time and stop the Warrior of Light from stopping all of their plans in the first place?

I propose that the mystery man, Trevanchet, is actually not who he and we all believed him to be. Trevanchet was actually an agent of Alexander, just like the clockwork coeurl that helped keep the flow of events happening as need be throughout the events of the raids. We learned at the end of the raid series that he sent Mide and her lover Dayan back in the past to create the self same tribe they were originally from, the Hotgo Tribe. So why wouldn't Alexander not also make another agent to make sure Alexander would be born in the first place. He sent Trevanchet into the past to steal the artifact to give to Mide to create the Enigma Codex, That would than later be used to summon Alexander.

If what I theorize is true, it would explain why we have never seen Trevanchet since the raids, because him helping create Alexander concluded his story arc.

Now sure, Yoshi-P could end up repurposing Trevanchet as some other villain/antagonist in the future. Or who knows maybe he is a villain in the future and still a time travelling agent but of a different entity. It is hard to say what the future holds. But I think the past has already been set in stone for dear old Trevanchet.
