PUMA x Yuga Labs x Alexander John Shoe Collection
Yuga Labs, web3 leader and home of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), 10KTF, Otherside, CryptoPunks, and Meebits, announced more details around the collaboration between 10KTF and PUMA explores the crossover of PUMA’s iconic and revitalized Slipstream sneaker, iterated into an NFT.
Beginning Thursday, April 27, members of the 10KTF and PUMA Nitro Collection NFT communities can acquire a physical customization of the celebrated sneaker, tailored to their avatar and linked, through the blockchain, to its NFT counterpart that can be used within the 10KTF ecosystem.
Eligible holders who successfully register for a PREMINT allowlist will have the opportunity to purchase a Mint Pass. If Mint Pass holders also own a PFP supported by 10KTF, they can burn the Mint Pass to redeem a physical pair of Slipstreams, customized to their PFP that is equipped with an ARX chip that binds a Slipstream NFT counterpart to the owner's wallet.
The limited release of 2,000 pairs of Slipstream sneakers, custom-designed by Alexander John, PUMA and 10KTF, delivers one of the biggest one-to-one shoe collections, and pioneers a new apparel pipeline not built for mass production, but rather driven through direct engagement.
10KTF is an interoperable digital platform that gives holders from top NFT collections (BAYC, World of Women, Cryptopunks, Cool Cats, and others) the tools to mint and collect one-of-a-kind NFTs featuring their avatars on various digital wearables. Super PUMA, an NFT collection released by the sportswear brand, is the latest set of avatars added to 10ktf.shop to mint digital gear in time for the collaborative release. The 10KTF collection has attracted legions of devoted community members, gaining popularity by releasing serialized and narrative-driven content from 10KTF’s shop purveyor, Wagmi-san.
As one of the world’s leading sports brands, PUMA has dedicated time and energy in the web3 space to find the place where digital and physical meet. PUMA first entered the 10KTF story during an NFT.NYC activation, with the goal of bringing Wagmi-san’s crafts and stories to the physical world.
“Most apparel and shoe pipelines are built around mass production of a single shoe,” said Michael Figge, Chief Creative Office at Yuga Labs. “Together, we've reworked that pipeline allowing collectors to become a bigger part of our story."
“It’s been a thrill working with 10KTF and Yuga Labs on this project,” said Adam Petrick, Chief Brand Officer at PUMA. “We want to continuously reimagine the traditional sneaker release format — and this partnership allowed us to do just that. We were able to bridge the gap between physical and digital and showcase one-of-a-kind designs in partnership with long-time PUMA collaborator, Alexander John.”
Eligible members of the 10KTF and PUMA Nitro communities can mint an NFT representative of their physical sneakers, using 21 different PFPs.
