Handsome Furs - I'm Confused

Sad to hear that Handsome Furs have called it quits (as a band, and as a couple, it seems).

They put on a great show and I had the chance to see them four times over the past few years. The above shots were taken in Washington, D.C., where I saw them for the first time. It also happened to be their second wedding anniversary.

I'm looking forward to Divine Fits, the new band from Dan Boekner and Spoon's Britt Daniel.

With a heavy heart the time has come to let all of you know that Handsome Furs are no more.

The most important thing that needs to be said right now is how extremely grateful we are to all the fans all over the world that showered us with love and support over the years. Thank you for everything! It’s been an incredible 6 years and we owe it all to you.

I am bummed that the Handsome Furs are calling it quits after six years.  Dan and Alexei are great people and I wish them the best.  I was fortunate enough to see them a few times (both at Great Scott).  Those shows were excellent with very high energy.

Below is a video "All We Want Baby is Everything" from July 6, 2009.  At the 1:18 mark, fan "Greg" makes an appearance on stage and dances.  Dan and Alexei were pretty cool about the whole thing.  Classic.  Below that is a video for "Dead and Rural" from the same night.
