Summer 17: Summer Assignments

So most of us have some sort of summer assignment whether it be reading a book and answering questions or writing an essay here are some tips to help you accomplish these tasks, enjoy! xx

Don't start as soon as summer begins Take a break from school! Relax have some fun before you completely devote yourself to summer studies or assignments wait at least 2 weeks

For those who aren't looking forward to their summer projects give yourself incentives or rewards ie. for every chapter you read or paragraph you write you can watch an episode of tv or if you finish a certain amount by this date you can go out

Make a schedule and stick to it, divide your work evenly over the course of the summer so your not waiting last minute and not missing out on your summer because you to busy with homework

Take time and do you best this is likely going to be your first impression to your new teacher and you don't want it to be a bad one so actually do it and do it well

If you're reading a book it may make it easier to get some background info on it look up the points the author was making and see if there are important parts that you should focus on

Look up the motif/climax etc... now I know some may be averse to this but I like to, sometimes I'm not very good and finding the motif or important parts and this might be useful when your reading, to make notes and put post it’s

5.24.2017 5:10 PM: I finished my last day of school today, got to say some tearful goodbyes to good friends, and received the last book I ordered! The natural light of my room after the intense storming we’ve been having is so beautiful even though there’s no trace of the sun. I’m very excited to be free and starting a new chapter (wink) of my life. I am now officially a high school senior, and I have so much ahead of me. However, for the time being, I’m going to savor my last high school summer and try to balance relaxation and productivity. I already partially succeeded, since I had a big brunch and a nice 3 hour nap! Now, however, I’m going to work on my Spanish, do a bit of cleaning, and start on my gigantic reading list :) For those of you still in exams, I wish you luck, and for those of you finishing up like me, I hope you have fun things planned!

24 (W). At what part of the day do you usually study?

Afternoon and evening because of school. Now that I’m out of school, however, that will probably vary significantly and I may due more morning studying. I’m going to try not to wreck my sleep schedule, and instead get up in the early morning so I can exercise before it’s hot.

How to be productive af at school

5.10.17 050 49/100 days of productivity Hi, guys, it’s been a little bit since I posted but I’m home sick because I was in bit of an accident and wanted to post today. I hope you find some of these helpful:) 

If your stuck there might as well not waste your free time doing things you can there

Listen to what the teachers say/ pay attention Obviously… 

When taking notes if you can review them beforehand do, but if you can  take pictures of the slides and then write the gist of them in your notebook you can save time while still getting the same amount done

Ask friends during lunch or breaks to help you with things you don’t understand

Teachers will be more willing to help you if you start something in advance 

Have an easy go-to method of note taking that is universal, this is going to make taking notes go by faster and easier making sure you don’t miss anything or have no space.

Use free periods and study halls to study instead of just homework. Sometimes if I have a free period and just do my homework I get home and I'm too lazy to study but if it was my homework I know I would have to do it.

Make a list of things you want to finish before the day is over and stick to it

Place yourself with the correct people. People who want the same things or have similar goals are best to sit with don’t just spend the period just laughing and goofing off

Know how to say “No” we all would rather do that fun thing or just forget about school but you have to remember that sometimes ou have to just get something done and the reward could be saying “yes”
