As soon as he heard the paladins Oliver removed the seal on the door and windows, they said the situation was now under control and to report to the auditorium, he didn’t know how Alex was, he just knew that she was alive. He had been tried to get into her mind ever since the attack started only to encounter the same blocking he had been facing for a couple of weeks now when trying to do a mental bond with her.

He had never been so glad for his height as he was at the moment with the amount of students and staff in the auditorium, he began ticking off the list of people he cared about that he could see but he’d go talk to them later, first and foremost he needed to find Alex and make sure she was alright.

“Alex!” He called when he finally saw her, it was like he had been underwater far longer than his lungs could handle and he had finally reached the surfice and could finally breath, the moment she was within reach he wrapped her up in a hug sighing deeply. “Are you okay? Are you hurt? What happened to you?”

Oliver had been expecting a lot of things from his meeting with Tess, walking out of there feeling... better, had not been one of them, he felt lighter than he had feel in weeks, he had some answers, Tess was drafting a plan, she had promised that she’d try to include him, there was something for him to do, he had told Alex that he’d be talking with Tess and if he was out late he’d probably be at the beach but as he walked around campus he realized he wanted to go to talk to Alex more than anything, he went to his room hoping she’d already be there, he needed a new a phone before Alex realized he didn’t have his but that was tomorrow’s problems right now he just wanted to see Alex. He walked inside his dorm and smiled at Alex, he walked towards her and wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug, taking a deep breath. “She’s alive...” He said. “Morgan is alive. I talked to Tess.”

Oliver woke up with a gasp, trying to sit up, the memories flooding his mind, Vivian’s house, the hunters, getting shot, Alex. He looked around sighing in relief as he spot Alex sitting by the bed, he was in the healing center, his head hurt and his shoulder even more so. “Hey...” He said trying to wet his lips. “Are you alright? Is everyone alright? What happened to me?”

Alex had brought his jacket, take out and the crocs, they had joked around as Alex reluctantly put on the ugly shoes and he took a full body picture with her direction before taking instant pictures of her glare and her crossed arms, they had settled to eat while watching T.V and chuckled as Space jam was playing, they had been joking and talking but Oliver couldn’t help but feel that they were sort of flirting? And wondered if their friendship had always been like that or if it was going to take them a little bit of time before they were able act like normal friends again, they were almost by the end of the movie and he blamed familiarity and habit to the fact that they were snuggling almost as they did when they were together, almost on top of each other, he suddenly felt it, the shift and gasped as he stood from the bed as if he had been burned. “Fuck...” He said panting his heart beating madly against his chest as he looked at Alex and oh God, he loved her, he loved her so damn much, what the hell had happened? How the fuck he went to loving this girl and wanting to spend the rest of his life with her to loving Veronica and then back again? “Abigail...” He growled and shook his head running his hands though his face. “Oh my God Alex... Did you feel that? I’m so sorry, so sorry.”

The most civil break up

Oliver needed to find Alex, it wasn’t fair, it wasn’t fair for her or him to be with her while he felt like this for someone else, it wasn’t about being with Veronica, what would the older professor even look in someone like him? But Alex deserved better too. “Hey.” He said when he found Alex, last thing he wanted was hurt her, she was his best friend and he had loved her so much but if he didn’t put an end to this now, more people would end up hurt. “Can I peak with you please?”

The Proposal || Alex & Oliver

Oliver had willingly downed more drinks than he had ever done, he had to stop as he was starting to feel buzzed because a) He wanted to remember what happened... As long as it all turned down alright and b) Alex would tease him for the rest of his life (hopefully) if he proposed drunk but it was 10 minutes before midnight and he could feel his hands sweating and he had to make a conscious effort of breathing normally and not hyperventilate. He pulled Alex aside, to a private place and smiled at her. "So it's almost a year since we first kissed though not quite our first anniversary... I don't know from where you count though." He said with a frown because there was the first date, first time they slept together and when he actually asked her to be his girlfriend. He knew part of him was stalling and not only to wait for new year's. He closed his eyes and breathed deeply a couple of times to concentrate and calm himself as he made snow start falling around them. The little box in his pocket that his dad had gave him at the airport felt hot where it was pressed against his leg. He looked at her and smiled warmly at her. "I really love you."

Oliver smiled as Alex walked in. He walked towards her and leaned down to press his lips against hers. “Hey.” He said with a little smile. “How does it feel knowing you’re one of the smartest people in the world?” He asked with a proud smile, the Archanology team had made it through the finals, though he didn’t need that to know she was.

Oliver pulled Alex outside, they didn’t have much time because dinner would be ready any minute and he wanted to talk to her. He stopped outside, by the place they had shared their first kiss at and smiled playfully at her.

He rested his hands on her hips and smiled at her, he could feel his heart beating madly against his chest and didn’t quite understand why he was so nervous but he pushed through before he lost his nerve.

“You know I don’t really feel comfortable talking with that many people so, I just… wanted a moment to tell you what I’m grateful for… I’m grateful for your legs.” He began with a little smirk tugging at his lips. “I’m grateful for your butt and your uhm.” He shrugged feelings his cheeks warming. “And your back.” He said running his hands up her back, resting at her shoulder blades. “And your front.” He chuckled his hands moving to her sides. “And your boobs.” He added cupping her breast. “And your shoulders and your arms and your hands.” He said his hands trailing down her shoulders until he had her hands in his. “I’m grateful for your neck.” He leaned forward and placed a kiss against her pulse point. “And your lips.” He kissed a path up her neck and to her lips giving her a chaste lingering kiss. “And your eyes and your face and your hair… Even though it’s always attacking me.” He chuckled threading his fingers through her hair. “And I’m thankful I met you and you pushed to became my friend even though I wasn’t always opened to the idea, I’m thankful through you I met your sister who became my friends and I’m thankful you were always there for me even though I didn’t always want you to be, I’m thankful you invited me and my dad over last year and your parents pretty much adopted us, I’m thankful for them too… And I’m thankful you kissed me here in New Years, even though it freaked me out a little, I went back to school and there was nothing else I could think no matter how much I tried to convince myself that it was just because of tradition and I’m thankful you didn’t push me away and slapped me when I kissed you… I’m thankful we went out and started dating and you let me inside your mind because I’m pretty sure otherwise I’d have thought this wasn’t… Well what it is… I’m just thankful for you because you love me and I love you so much and you gave me friends and a family and I just…Thanks.” He said leaning forward to press his lips against her softly.

“But I’m mostly thankful for your legs.” He joked because heavy emotional moments still weren’t his best suit.
