this is so amusing because they’re implying that the trump angle was 100% out of place in JC…the folks at the public just chose to read a modern political angle on a completely unrelated play for no reason. weird!

yeah exactly, even though imo the direct parallel was kind of clumsy it isn’t as though it’s out of nowhere when we’re dealing with this political drama, then to act like they would do the same to midsummer comes across as so so willfully obtuse
