❝ don't beat yourself up over it too much, ❞ and these days it seemed so rare for the soldier to offer words like that, so inclined to gruff reprimands, but fareeha had beaten herself plenty over this. taken it and driven it into the ground with herself right beside it. the old soldier knew those feelings, utter disappointment in one's self from something they know they should have prevented. she should only be so lucky it hadn't been worse, that she had backup to keep her covered.
a shift in his posture, arms folded firmly across his chest. ❝ you made a mistake; acknowledge it, don’t do it again, and get over it. lettin' it eat you alive ain't gonna fix any problems, just cause more for you. ❞ hypocrite, his mind screamed, but in this moment that part of him was easily quieted.
STARTER FOR @alhimaya
“Dayum, Fareeha ! Watch where yer pointin’ that damn thing ! Gonna kill yer skilled, handsome, incredibly charmin’ comrade over here. Don’t give a damn if it’s just trainin’ bots, I ain’t made of fuckin’ bolts ! Blow ‘em up somewhere further away !”

Zarya/Men
listen i know y’all wanna subvert stereotypes and all by saying that a butch-coded woman likes men (how groundbreaking, truly.) but as a butch lesbian myself, I really... i really want more butch coded characters to be exclusively with women. This happened in Dragon Age with Cassandra and it actually hurt me the way that it was portrayed, that they wanted to subvert “stereotypes” for butch lesbians in media but it’s like butch where? I have a massive post on my personal blog that’s now got over 4.5k notes about asking where butch lesbians are in the last 10 years. And so far, I think I’ve seen the same 3 characters come up. That’s sad.
Zarya is someone a lot of wlw and lesbians especially identify with, and we identify her to be coded as butch, which is something not a lot of straight folks understand. In all honesty, it would also be something revolutionary in a way to have a Russian character who has a lot of national pride be gay to counteract the rampant homphobia in the country itself.
